    Get this off my chest...

So my treatment of the girls (Starlight, Sunset, and Twilight) has been questioned a few times in this story. I'm not really certain why but I want to say this here and get it off my chest.

My first story The End is not the End was a vehicle for Celestia and Luna. As they are my favorites I wanted to give them recognition. Blooming Days is Sunset, Starlight, and Twilight's story.

    New Venture

Soooo it's not great and it's just voice, but I started a YouTube channel. It's going to have all my MLP hot takes and reviews. Started with a review right now but maybe I'll go into readings (starting with BD?) . I've also done a lot of reviews of Fics that I'll probably end up uploading.

I don't know. It's something new. If you're interested, cool. If not, cool. Here ya go.

"Haven't gotten one of those in a while. Honestly, expected."

    Lose another like.

Taste and attraction · 10:44am Sep 16th, 2023

People sure are different, huh? Browsing through the featured section is... harrowing sometimes. I find some of the stories there to be quite... interesting, to say the least.

I touched on this in a comment on BD and I wanted to expound upon it a bit in a blog. What really shapes our tastes and what we are attracted to? I'll open up a little and be the first to share.

Since as far back as I can recall I've been unreasonably attracted to tails. Now this isn't full blown furry fandom, (not that I have a problem with furries) but just tails in general. Ahri from League of Legends. Tamamo no Mae from Fate. Kokonoe from BlazBlue. Characters of that ilk.

I don't know why, but I find these characters ridiculously attractive. Now they all arguably are attractive, but if you subtract their tails their attractiveness goes down several notches to me.

I've never been able to figure out why this is. Then you start to get into fetishes and I begin to wonder if it's all just mental issues. Is it trauma? But if it is, why does it start so early in life?

I really don't understand it and I've had discussions for hours with friends about it, but have never come to a conclusion I was okay with.

I guess that's why some of the weirder stuff on Fim is more acceptable in my eyes. Like, if I can't even explain my own preferences how could I possibly judge someone else for their's. Life is pretty crazy.

This is BD 10 btw. Sunset is getting the business in comments lol. I tend to do really big slow burns that nobody gets in the end and it sucks.

For example, there was a foreshadowed event in chapter two of my first story that didn't get its payoff until chapter like 32. I'm pretty certain nobody got it, but I think it's nifty.

That's kind of how Sunset is in Blooming Days. She's getting vague setups and they'll get payoffs later.

Well, I'm going to go write more. Love y'all.

I am admiring beautiful tails on fantastical characters for like, 10 years already, and never thought about it as something weird. If it pleases you and elevates character design from mundane, and also gives it some extra pretty visual features, maybe it is just as simple as that.

People just quick to label, that's all. 'Fetishes?' 'Trauma?' 'Strangeness?' Anything that deviates from normality is strange for most people, so screw em'

5746723
Whoa, what is that? Looks like I've got some research to do.

It's not so much to please others or because of them. I just really like understanding myself and I can't understand my attractions at all. Never have been able to. That troubles me.

5746724
Eh, it will pass, completely normal stuff.

What I want to communicate though, as that the world is too diverse and beautiful to cater to everyone's senses of normality, so don't let others' opinions define you. Of course, there's always a possibility to overindulge in deviant tastes, but interest in simple pretty stuff definitely not crossing any lines.

'Love, Death and Robots' is a great anthology that explores different ideas. This clip is from season 1 episode 8

5746725
Interesting, I'll have to look into it. Yeah, I'm not a big "normal" believer. Insight is always something that I value though, and getting diverse perspectives really helps with that.

*tail butt plug exist
*nekomimi exist

Buried somewhere within the genetic code, the attraction to tails that existed when ancestors still had one was still there, alive and kicking.

5746727
Wouldn't that then be chalked up to random chance? I don't like that lol.

5746728
It was certainly a genetic lottery to a point.

Someone will only get turned on when when partner put on the fur suit, others only needed buttplug, and the rest would disgusted at that kind of action all together.

The same also applied to attraction towards the concept of the dragon, the combination of ancestor’s 3 predator animals.

5746729
Yeah see, that bugs me and seems too...arbitrary, especially as a response.

Why do you like tails so much?

Genetics.

Why don't I like tails as much?

It was random.

My guess would be that it works the same way clothes do, drawing attention to certain parts of the body. Clothing design allows you to get really specific. That little 'spot' right above the rump and below the lumbar, where the tail would go, is a sensual place. Also, generally, one does not expect to be touched there, in the same way one would the hands, the legs, etc.

5746733
But I can't touch there anyway!!!

:raritydespair:

Before I say anything, I want to point out I'm a religious and spiritual dude. That may paint some of my views on this. All right, here goes.

Fetishes are strange things. Some might be brought through childhood experiences mingling with hormones. Others might be trauma or manipulation. Some might even be simple things in a relationship you fixate on. Heck some are likely just cross wires in your head.

Personally, I myself believe demonic influence is present in a fair bit of it as well. Other people might not be convinced, but thought at the very least.

5746738
I am quite religious myself, though I do struggle with it like most. This stood out to me...

Heck some are likely just cross wires in your head.

This sounds right, but I sincerely don't think God would do that to me, so I must've taken... y'know I just remembered my sister dropped me on my head a lot as a child.

Demons, I think, have a hand in all feelings of lust, so that makes some sense to me.

5746739
Glad to help.
I do struggle with lust myself, it's almost as difficult a sin as pride.

5746740
Lust is my dragon. The darn thing is a monster. Envy is pretty disgusting for me too.

5746742
For envy, I just think to myself "Dude, you can have something similar to them. May not be in the same form or style, but you can have it." Pray, learn, and seek opportunities wherever you may find them.

That's all I got for battling envy.

5746747
Yeah I'm the opposite. I see successful people, like absurdly successful attractive people. (Mostly Kpop stars) and I'm just like, dude how in the heck even...

5746749
Envy is a delicate and dangerous thing. I personally feel like I don’t have much of it, why? I really can’t tell you. I guess it could be since I’m usually happy to know others are successful, or maybe because my parents always taught me that envy is wrong, and I believed them enough. Its just that I don’t find my situation any worse than someone else’s, like if they succeed and it was a fair effort on their part, good for them. If anything I find it inspiring. Not that you were taught wrong, or aren’t empathetic, I have no idea how you were raised or what’s your personality.

I also struggle with lust, I find ‘Foxgirls’ attractive. Luckily this hasn’t yet made me a furry, I still don’t understand what’s the point of dressing up and pretending to be something you’re not, and actually believing you are that thing.

Other than that, I give an earnest effort to at least be a descent human being, mostly because it’s a nice thing to do. I’m almost a yes man, except I WILL voice my opinion on the matter.

Let’s hope writing something on the internet won’t come back to bite me in my ass down the line in my life.

5746730
It was a combination of two things. I didn't know how to explain it properly.

Imagine you're creating a character for a role playing game.

All of the possible character traits already existed within character creation page, but you can cannot choose everything. One race, one gender, one class, one hair color.

That represented all possible genetic combination of your parents. There are uncountable but you can only pick a few.

Then you have a dice. This is your random chance.

Everytime you face a choice in the character creation, you let's the dice make the choice for you. You rolls it and pick accordingly whatever the result was.

Something like that.

5746755
I was a lot less envious before I started playing gacha games with friends, lol.

Yeah, I'll never get the fursuits thing.

It shouldn't. My 20 year ago stuff is still up and I'm not regretting it yet.

5746800
Yeah a random chance dictated by limited parameters. But I have traits that are nothing like anyone in my entire family.

5746807
It's possible some of them were, but they never noticed it for whatever reasons, from social values to living condition.

For example, there are many cases of molesting and raping same-sex victims in middle east but the rapists, even when caught, would never admitted themselves as gay people.

They will wiggle their broken logic around it and even believe it in their heart, even if it because homosexual is one of greatest sins in their belief and LGBT came from old imperialist western world, an absolute taboo.

5746812
https://youtu.be/rFeVfwDvTyM?si=TgbiDnJII5lrUwe_

I mean most things are possible, idk you could be right, but I just feel like it has more to do with choice... or maybe development. I did watch a lot of animal stuff when I was young. (Lion King, Balto, Lady and the Tramp, etc.)

5746813
Genetics are pretty cool actually, I’m not sure you know how they work, but you do seem confused on why you’re different, so here goes something.

People have genes, there are two categories, I’m forgetting what their names are, but one is a capital letter (I.e. A) and the other is a lower case letter
(I.e. b). When parents have a child they pass down their genes to the child, but since two people are both passing down genetics to you, they have to ‘choose’ which ones make it. Depending on what genes your parents have you got a different chance of having the same whatever, or a different whatever.
Now each human has two genes per thing, and there’s 3 combinations you can have, (A, A) this means you got a capital trait, so the if A means both your parents had Blonde hair, yours will be too, and there’s 100% you’ll inherit the trait.
Next is (A, a) this means that while you have the A trait (having blue eyes for example.) you still got ‘a’ (let’s say a is green eyes.) genes, so while no one can see ‘a’, you still got a 50% of inheriting that trait, that doesn’t mean much if your other parent gives you A trait again though.
And at last there’s (a, a) which finally means you have an a trait, this is a primary reason why two blonde parents can have brunette kids and vica versa.
Hope this isn’t hard to understand, I have a weird way of messing up simple explanations lol.

Now for some practical examples, if the the parents both have either (A,A) or (a,a) you have a 100% to have the same trait, if one of your parents has mixed genes (A,a) and a unmixed (A,A or a,a) you have a chance to either be unmixed A or a, and a chance to have mixed genes. And at last if both your parents are mixed it’s basically randomizing your character in any RPG game.

5746827
Yes I am aware, but none of that is mental, it's physical traits and the like. Sicknesses, inclination for certain diseases, color of hair and eyes and skin. Etc.

My thoughts are wholly my own and aren't due to genetics. If anything it's development and conditioning.

5746831
I’m pretty sure mental illnesses are somewhat genetic, if both of your parents have Alzheimer’s you might also get it. Not sure about actual mental stuff.

5746831
Did not read your whole comment, stupid mistake. Yeah, I agree thoughts are made from previous experience, so they are your own.

5746833
Lol! I do that so often it hurts.

Fox girls are a very classic image in East Asian folklore, and there are many folklore related to them. In these stories, it is often the scholar who is beguiled by the fox-turned-girl. So... welcome to become a member of the ancient Chinese traditional scholars.:raritywink:

5746841
Sounds good to me!

5746841
There are theories that Cossacks and possibly Ruthenian/Ukrainian people came from China/Mongolia so I guess that kind makes sense.

Darn, didn’t know I was actually just honoring a tradition.
