I am just a simple thinker, though some call me mad.

    Iota Force Issue #7 Released

So, yeah. Also, the introduction blog's been updated, which I normally wouldn't bother to mention but... well, I kind of noticed something as I was writing it and...

Editor Wanted for Iota Force Series

So, I've had the next Iota Force story written for a long, long time now, but haven't been able to get it edited yet. And, well, it seems like my previous editor isn't really likely to be able to do so in the future. Completely understandable, of course - much as I love writing kid-pony-superhero stories, I can't exactly claim they're important enough to warrant disrupting a busy life,

    A Release and a Recommendation

So, first things first: the sixth Iota Force story's getting released:

EThe Crystal Caves of Confuzzlation (Iota Force Issue #6)
Iota Force descend deep beneath the Crystal Empire and must find a way to escape, fight through a gauntlet of traps - illusory, deadly and both - to bring their captor to justice. There's no backup down there - they're all alone. Or are they?

    Confession of a Reluctant Windbag

So, good news: I've finished the first draft of the sixth Iota Force story, meaning I can start getting the fifth ready for publication (I'm hoping to always be at least one story ahead of publication to both give me a buffer and so I can have a bit of distance between writing and editing a story, so i can look at it a bit more objectively).

Editor Wanted for Iota Force Series · 9:37am Jul 17th, 2023

So, I've had the next Iota Force story written for a long, long time now, but haven't been able to get it edited yet. And, well, it seems like my previous editor isn't really likely to be able to do so in the future. Completely understandable, of course - much as I love writing kid-pony-superhero stories, I can't exactly claim they're important enough to warrant disrupting a busy life, plus this next one's big even by my ridiculously long-winded standards - but pretty inconvenient.

So, I figured I'd ask here first of all if anyone's interested in helping out. Not exactly expecting much since, again, this one has almost one-and-a-half times the words of the already-overlong previous story and that's not a light thing to ask of anyone, but hey, you never know. Also, hopefully it'll do something to explain the lack of stories for the past couple of years, for which I can only apologize. Not that I'd imagine it bothered anyone, but better to have an explanation and apology and not need it...

Apologies, I am not really available for a roughly 135-kiloword story. (Also I haven't actually read Crystal Caves yet either. :twilightblush:) If all else fails, you could release this one unedited.

I completely support this decision, and I'm sorry for my laziness.

Hey, laziness nothing - if not being able to edit a story over a quarter the length of The Lord of the Rings is lazy, there are probably very few diligent people on Earth. This is not anything that can be blamed on you, I promise you.

It's beginning to seem like that's gonna be the only way. I mean, normally I'd be... well, I wouldn't be happy about it - I'd ask three editors and a proofreader to look over my shopping lists if it were feasible - but I'd be okay with it. Thing is, though, this is... kind of a really important entry in the series and the culmination of the first (to use to the term loosely) arc... and also has a particular point that, at the very least, could very easily come across as stupid, so I really, really want to have a second pair of eyes on it.

Still, better that it come out imperfect than never at all, might end up having to just bite the bullet and do it. Still, figured I'd try for a hail mary.:twilightsheepish:
