So, put a little bow on that one.
To begin with, I know this does not break any new ground and that probably is a bummer for some. But honestly, I like filling in some of the missed opportunities and side stories that the Incarnate Series left for me. At the start, I had no idea that I would get as many stories out of the series as I already have. Still, muse shouts, I listen.
In this case the story was born from a contest prompt about a sci-fi story. I missed the deadline by an Astronomical Unit.
Nevertheless, I wanted to finish what I started.
Honestly, Human Twilight (Sci-Twi) honestly got the short stick in the Incarnate series and I always felt bad about that. What happened to her was just a matter of plot direction. Still, I tried to make it worth it for the overall series under the hope that I would get to write her again, further distinguish her from her pony princess counterpart. Hopefully, that was accomplished.
The story itself was never meant to be a long one. It was just supposed to be a small adventure, some Sci-fi elements, some hijinks, some adult humor, and to fill in a few gaps in the timeline. I tried to squeeze in a little bit of mystery of a 'whodunit' sort of nature, but more than one person saw right through it and had the suspect immediately lined up. I don't generally write mystery, so if that aspect was lame that's why.
I felt like I was struggling to find time to really sit down and finish this near the end. Part of that has to do with how our lives here have changed in the Post-Covid. When I started posting here it was after I had already been lurking and reading fics for about a year. The lockdowns had given me the excuse to get back into writing because my muse had been screaming and there was nothing else to do but stay home. Years later, now there are too many things I have to do so I have to build a big chapter buffer otherwise I catch up.
Admittedly, it is easy to fill "foreshadowing" of events that I have already written elsewhere, but still can be done cleanly if not in overabundance. Also, Drago was based on my old roomie from college because I love including friends in my work whenever I can manage it. Speaking of Drago, as some have probably guessed, I imagine his Equestrian counterpart as a Kirin. Eagle Eye I picture as a griffon.
What happens after they leave the station?
Sunset and Twilight go back to their retirement, while Twilight uses what she learned to rebuild her next AI that will eventually become the PAAL system that was Raven's architecture. She also learned to importance of training the AI from scratch and made sure that the one that Sunset ended up with had access to more information than most. Raven was not necessarily smarter than other PAALs she just had code that gave her a leg up.
What's next?
I have considered doing what I would call one chapter fillers called: Incarnate side conversations. Why? I received a PM from a reader after they went through I, Raven and they were upset that Sunset and Twilight never talked about what happened between Sunset and Gauge in the hotel bathroom. They felt there should have been some honesty and a conversation on the, what they called, 'infidelity.'
So, that might be something to explore and has a great deal of potential without that commitment of a multi chapter story.
Are there still plans to bring Twilight and Sunset into G5? At the moment? No. I still kind of want to write the outline I have for the story Argyle but I have not started it beyond outline. Mostly that has to do with being VERY far behind on G5 other than the comics. I just do not feel I have a grasp of the characters or their world enough to move forward. Maybe in the future that will change and I'll just binge watch a bunch of eps and see if something jumps out at me.
I guess that's all that is on my mind at the moment.

So because of that code, was Raven able to learn faster? Did Twilight have the foresight, knowing that Sunset would eventually go back to Equestria, to give Sunset's PAAL the capability of essentially creating her own database from scratch without the access of the internet, learning everything from history to geography?

No she didn't learn any faster than the other devices but what the extra code allowed Raven to do was access core databases that should have been off limits to anyone without administrative privileges. Twilight gave her this information because she knew someday Sunset would needed.
Twilight had a secret, she knew something was wrong with her and that every time the mirror cycled Midnight became stronger no matter how hard she fought to lock the shade personality down. At first she just thought it was bad dreams, nightmares, things like that. Later, she realized it had to have been a magic problem and the only way to protect her wife was to separate herself. That way if anything happened, Sunset had access to all the root systems via her PAAL.
