Ah, the age-old tired excuse from haters.

No, he's not. Currently, Sonic characters have no official ages, and I hope it stays that way. Before that, no, he was older than six.

He's also a fictional character.

And I don't apply human age of maturity to fictional characters.

Especially when they do things like own a plane, fly a plane, own a workshop, save the world, etc.

Save the morals for real-world issues. Makes everyone happier.

You're right! It's quite silly to think that age is an issue for them especially since they aren't human and don't share the same principle.
Just like sex has the social and biological sex, there are differences between mental and physical age, and they affect the way people see things.
But ultimately, it's just a matter of "are they smart enough to consent" and "are they different enough from human young people to not encourage the act in real life".
Age isn't the only standard, And people should realize that more often.
