    Audiobook Announcement

I'm excited to announce that I'm working on an audiobook for Hooves of Fate. I started with Chapter 63: Rivers. This way, long-time readers of HoF can reorient themselves to the momentum of the story before the upcoming release of Chapter 64 (text) this Saturday.

    The Voice of the People

They can cancel Friendship is Magic. They can cancel Make Your Mark. But they can never silence the voice of the people.

PPOV - Pony Point of View · 2:06am Mar 28th, 2023

"P.P.O.V.  Pony Point of View)" tells the story of the same nautical expedition from the perspectives of Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie.  According to Rarity, Applejack capsized the boat.  According to Pinkie, Rarity was responsible.  According to AJ, both of the other two were to blame.

In the end, it turned out that a sea monster had done it.  (Apparently the cucumber sandwiches that fell over the side of the boat are its favorite.)

This episode was a lot of fun, and the wholesome tea party with the sea monster reminded me of everything unapologetically positive about MLP.

However, I couldn't help but notice a failed opportunity in this story.  Had Rainbow Dash been involved in the investigation, they could have called the episode, "Dashomon."

Discuss.

It is a great episode and a fun to see the wildly different perspectives from each character. If Dash had been there, it would have been a very different story altogether…in the most extreme way possible!

That really would have been a great episode name even if it went over the heads of the target demographic—and most adults.

I’m still confused at how did it exactly happened and how they could perceive each other in such extreme ways, though. Do you think they were lying/exaggerating or they couldn’t remember properly?

Eyewitness accounts are the least reliable form of evidence. They were all caught up in the moment and perceived the events through the lens of what they believed to be going on.

Being a cartoon for kids, the show exaggerated to make its point, but miscommunications like this happen all the time in real life. Usually no sea monsters though.

Maybe you’re right, this explanation makes the episode make more sense now

re the missed pun:
Ah, hah, alas. :D
