2023 Update · 3:40am Feb 17th, 2023
Since the previous chapter of The End of an Era, Thanksgiving, Christmas, the dawn of the New Year, and my 29th birthday have come and gone in the time I typed, and procrastinated on, the next chapter, Part 3 - Chapter 3 (Chapter 11 of the story as a whole). There were a bunch of other activities that I swore I wouldn't do again until I buckled down and got that long-overdue chapter done. Now that it's finished and published for you all to read (hope you enjoy it), I feel like doing something else for a bit before I get to business on Part 3 - Chapter 4. I hope I won't take anywhere near as long with that one, but just to be safe, I make no promises of a quick arrival.
Not much else I could add here, besides what i'd like to do in the distant future, after The End of an Era is completed. Well, you're probably already aware that i'd like to bring The Brilliance of the Restful Mind out of it's long suspension to finish it as well, and i'd like to do some stories centered around G5, of course. One other idea i've been planning is a series of one-shots taking place in The End of an Era's continuity, following it's epilogue. Mentioning that, I should add that I won't be doing a big rewrite for the inconsequential "Season 10" series that IDW Publishing did to conclude their Friendship is Magic comic book line. It just isn't necessary, especially with how big i'm going to make the rewritten final battle.
Truthfully, once The End of an Era is done, I don't plan to do a big rewrite fan fiction ever again. Getting writing exercise is a part of the process of doing this sort of thing, after all, and someday, i'd like to use the hypothetical lessons learned and what I find suits me best in storyline structure in original stories I can legitimately call my own, whether it's fan fiction or the new storylines fully of my creation that I dream of every single day.
