I've always said one thing about who I am as a person. "Eternally in pursuit of the goodness in the heart." It's what called me to the show. It's why I'm here now. And it's what I love to write about.

The question of: How much do we give of ourselves until it's enough? · 7:05pm Feb 12th, 2023

I wrote this story as a bit of an introspective look to myself and my history with the pursuit of being a good person.

I also wrote it for a friend who is having a crisis of faith with feeling like they're letting their audience down by not continuing their work, which for all intents and purposes is free content for said audience.

My stories often touch on responsibilities and the kind of emotional weight we give ourselves. Chrys fights the fate ordained for her, and the responsibility she bares in trying to save her kind. Emile is the wannabe hero who is eaten up inside by the sacrifices he had to make. And in general, the theme of responsibility is something I've always incorporated in my bigger works since it speaks to me so.

At the end of the day, they're self-constructs. We are beholden only to ourselves. So then the question we should be asking ourselves is "How much do we give of ourselves until it's enough?"

O' Selfless Child doesn't answer that question. It only props that question up so we can think on it. Too much, or too little. Where do we go wrong with what we want and feel that we need to do?
