Paying Dues / Year of the Release · 6:31pm Jan 2nd, 2023
So, as you may have noticed with the release of the verbose 11k Chapter 19 of TToTS, I have returned to writing for now. Later today I will be releasing Chapter 20, which will bring me up-to-date with everything I had pre-written so far. (Edit: At least for TToTS; FotV is still outstanding)
Misunderstanding my own numbering system, I thought I had already released my remastered beginning to the story, which I now see I have not. Going forward, I need to complete all of my outstanding work, both in writing and in art. I need to start fresh and not feel forced to work on things I "owe". As such, I want to concentrate on finishing and replacing the weak beginning of this story, so that people might actually read to its current release. Views spike down between chapters, and Chapter 19 has only 5% of the reads that Chapter 1 does. I hope I can change that, otherwise what's the point in continuing at all? I would much rather be writing this as an original story with the chance of publication, but I need to start what I finished. Wait; strike that, reverse it.
Honestly I don't know what 2023 will bring me. My whole life has been a hellish prison of repetition, isolation, and self-hatred, and after only a few short months of my mental breakdown, I've already lost all the willpower and drive to change. Everything as it was, and as it shall be. Will 2023 be better? Experience tells me no. I have already relapsed, and it is only a matter of time before I hit rock bottom again. I wish to at least not owe anyone anything by then. I wish to be remembered and missed by then too, but that's hoping for too much.

I did call 2022 the Year of the Rewrite, which it technically was considering I did a lot of writing towards that goal during it, but may have rung untrue since I never released any of it. I aim to correct that err for 2023. This will not be the Year of the Rewrite, but the Year of the Release. Within its first three months I aim to complete and release the rewrite of the first five chapters of TToTS, with the additional goal of finishing Flight of the Valkyrie. With the release of Chapter 20, I have already begun to rewrite the rewrite of the prologue. Just like before, it won't make sense to release these updates as I finish them, since they won't fit with the older chapters following them, but I will try to release them in chunks, rather than all at once.
I really hope that at the end of this I will have a story that I'm not too ashamed to share. Wish me luck!
