This is just…heart-crushing. How could such a sweet, innocent young life be robbed of the chance to enjoy it to the fullest? Just a few scant years? I at least hope they’ve been filled with as much love as possible. Poor little dear. As if I didn’t have enough reasons to cry tonight.

Yes, it's heart-crushing. Cancer's vile at any age, but to strike someone so young makes an already-terrible fate inconceivably worse.
In this particular case, the least I hope for is that she manages to recover before it has a chance to kill her. Survival can and should happen.
