Should i create a community Discord? (Poll) · 6:32pm Dec 4th, 2022
Would you guys like me to start a community Discord for "And so I left"?
Would it be something that you would be interested in?
You would get to interact with me more, ask me questions directly and chat with other fans. You could also get sneak previews of upcoming chapters.
I suggest reposting the poll in the end of chapter notes on the story itself as well. There are far fewer ppl that look at blogs or threads
What Newbie said, I would certainly join up for one.
I'm more here for the story, rather than picking your brain about ideas of where the story may go, or your thoughts on future chapters.
Its a new story, you're a new writer. Those things bring attention to be sure, but don't put too much into what you already have or what you may bring. Build up a bit more. A Discord made for interaction with an author with only one story that has just a handful of chapters seems a bit premature.
I'm not knocking you, what you have written so far is compelling enough for me to follow you for updates to the story. However, I've found that if an author puts too much stock into what may come and receives praise for future ideas that have yet to be published, that motivation can be lost before a finished chapter is released. Self-spoilers, I guess you could say.
Sorry if I rambled a bit. It's just I've seem authors talk about cool stuff and never actually write it because someone said the idea was good, and that confirmation meant enough that they never finished writing.

Thanks for your opinion. I probably won't make a Discord until my story is a bit more established, but this blog was more to test the waters than anything else. To gauge interest. You're right it's too early and I promise to try not to let praise ruin my future work.
