The next chapter is coming along nicely. I'm about 2.5k words in, which would ordinarily be almost done, but this chapter is going to be a long one by my standards, at least 4k words, maybe 5k.
I struggled a bit with a particular section for at least a week, which significantly slowed me done (and I still might need to rewrite that section). However, progress is being made and work is accelerating. I would estimate that it should be ready by 5 Jan.
As I said in the AN of the last chapter, this chapter is going to be something of a magnum opus for me so far. A true turning point in the story. So much of what happens depends on my flawless execution of the writing. I'm taking my time with it.
I probably won't say too much in the next AN, since the chapter will be so long anyway. However, after the next chapter there will be a bunch of Interludes and in the AN of one of those Interludes, I will do a full postmortem of the Valley Dale arc. I will explain a lot of the decisions that I made in regards to the story and why some of them worked, while some of them didn't. Taking into account a lot of the feedback that I have received.
You probably noticed that I have been very quiet in the comments over the last few chapters. Responding to far fewer comments, questions and speculations than I normally do. This is just because I've been trying to avoid giving away spoilers for what is to come.
Oh the suspense is killing me.
