TWIN SKIES

The clouds parted as the two of them burst out, entwined, their speed trails dancing together like threads in a string.
They were as inseparable as much, and dancing on the clouds they went along, over and under, the entire world flying past under-hoof as if it were a gift to them by the powers that be.
Toward the setting sun they rode on carts of wind, the blinding red light casting maroon shadows upon everything that the eye could see.
“I love you,” Dash yelled the shit, over the roaring winds that flew past their face and ears.
“I love you too!” Soarin’ exclaimed, excitedly and elatedly.
“I- I have something for you,” Dash told him, dragging him by a leg to a nearby cliff.
They both touched down in unison, perfectly in time, perfectly in place.
Rainbow shook the night dew out of her mane, sending twilight sparkles into the night air. You see what I did there?
“What is it?” Soarin’ asked, tilting his head slightly. Rainbow never was one to give gifts. It wasn’t that she wasn’t generous or loving, but gift giving was decidedly uncool.
“I... bought you this pie,” Rainbow said, pulling a hot steaming apple pie from her saddlebag.
“Pie!” Soarin’ interjected.
“Did somepony call for me?” Pinkie asked.
“No, Pinkie, get out of the scene,” Rainbow said, rolling her eyes.
“Pie!” Soarin’ exclaimed again. “I freakin’ like, love Pie! How did you know I freakin’ love pie?”
“Um... because we’ve been together for eight months, Soarin’,” Dash explained.
Soarin’ nodded. It was a good explanation.
And then they fucked.
