Update 11/16/2022 · 10:28pm Nov 16th, 2022
Hello, everyone!
I just wanted to give you all a quick update on what's been going on.
To say this past week has been a rollercoaster would be an understatement.
For those of you who don't know, I have a hedgehog named George (he made a cameo in Chapter 16). A week ago today, George started not feeling very well. For the next couple days, he would eat less and less, and then wouldn't eat anything on his own this past Saturday. After several trips to the vet, x-rays showing a severely distended stomach, an overnight stay at the exotic vet hospital, followed by one more trip today, I now know George has an enlarged gallbladder as well as indications of something known as fatty liver disease(common in overweight hogs, particularly those who suddenly stop eating for whatever reason).
Most if not all of my focus has, understandably, been diverged to him this past week, and may continue to be that way for the next couple weeks. I will try to work when I can, but I've essentially been given the prognosis of "everything we could do has the possibility of making it worse", and with George currently on several medications...it's basically a matter of when, not if.
It's not all bad news, though! George went from not wanting to do anything due to weakness to having little spurts of energy. He even climbed into my hand a couple times to get out of his bath For the time being, he is still trying to be active, and is not in distress. I only ask for your guys' patience for a little bit. I currently have the next arc of the story mentally floating about in the sea of "What Needs to Be Done" in my head, and it has not made it onto my storyboard quite yet. The general outline is there, but I wanted to hammer down some details before I really get started. But, again, George has taken priority as of late.
So, with that being said, I hope to see you all soon. I will update you guys when I can, and thank you for your patience. You're all wonderful, and I love you all very much!
Stay strong, and take your time!
Take your time!
That's too bad. I hope he continues to do ok. Take your time with the story
