Another story posted today! This one for the M/M Shipping Contest 2022.
Feeling Blue is a very short story about Thorax and Spike being in love and having a tough conversation about feelings and colors. I'm actually unsure what the metaphor I'm trying to make is! Being trans/gender fluid is a good contender but maybe it's just about being sad. I don't know! I was writing from my heart.

I've never like any Older!Spike designs because they always make him really thin and tall? I like Spike being fat and short! I think he should stay that way forever! (And I really don't like canon Chad!Spike. You're telling me this nerd worked out in the future? Got gains? No.)
Writing romance with Spike is very weird and I feel like has only gotten more divided over time. I have always seen Spike as more of the mane six's age. I get that ick when I see people shipping him with the crusaders because to me he's obviously much older than them! But I get that there is no 'right' answer and people can interpret him different ways so I just ignore it and go about my business. But a lot of people (especially newer fans on TikTok) see him as the crusaders' age and throw around weird accusations at people who ship him with ponies the mane six's age.
So I've decided that the only safe option is to ship him with Thorax. Because Thorax is also in a kind of weird age group where I could see where people are coming from on both sides of the argument.
Anyway! I don't see this story winning the contest but maybe I'll get lucky with a Judges Prize! The contest doesn't end until a ways into December so there's still plenty of time for you, dear reader, to write your own!
Writing advice: Let your characters fail and have bad things happen to them. It can be hard but it'll make the story thrilling!

Spike just works best as a child. It makes him cute and it's what got me into the series: him.

Any design works for me if it fits his current personality.(Besides, I remember being strong like is his dream, so I think he'll work to achieve it.)
