The Good, the Bad, and the Extra stuff I wanted to talk about.

Okay. Bad news first: I haven’t started working on anything new. Like at all. Not a single word. The finale hasn’t even begun to get written yet, or any other story for that matter.

The good news: I’ve been doing a seriously deep dive on fixing up every single chapter of A Kindled Change and A Kindled Beginning. They are now as close to perfect as I can get them without the assistance of an Editor. Grammar, syntax, adding things, deleting things, rewording things, etc, etc. Since I don’t know any editor circles and wouldn’t know how to go about finding one for my MLP stories, I have to make do with just my own capabilities, and I feel like I’ve got them all there finally. There’s a big possibility that there are still a lot of mistakes since trying to read my own 84k word spaghetti art is rough, and I’m not infallible in my design.

I’m just built different. Same same, but different, and less good. Still, trust ya boi when he tells you I WENT through them. Like fine-comb stuff yeah.

Work aside, I’ve been fully intent on seeing something through. It’ll probably cost me a lot of money, but I really want to see it happen. I’ve already spent upwards of 400 bucks on the Kindled series. What’s another 100-200?

So initially for A Kindled Beginning, I had the idea of adding a faded polaroid of Chrys’ progression towards making friends in Ponyville, with each new chapter coloring in her new friends. If you caught the story in its infancy, you might’ve seen it!

Using my less-than-ideal photoshopping skills, I did something like this:

Unfortunately, we’re at the point in the story where my gimmick can no longer work to full effect, even if I wanted to remake it.

Still, I really want to create an all-encompassing image like this with all of her friends together. Chapter 5 had Fluttershy give Chrys an empty picture frame for her to use in the future. Being the cheesy guy that I am, I really want to see it happen.

It’ll likely be the final picture I get Mutters to do for me for the story. And I’ll likely pay her handsomely, as I do. Honestly can’t wait for it.

Want to know where I got my gimmick idea? Easy. From the copious amounts of anime I watch. There are a few animes that do a really cool thing of slowly adding their characters to their EDs per episode. My favorite being Hinamatsuri because the show itself struck such a fine chord with me.
