Long ago in the frozen and dark age of Equestria, an unlikely band of creatures were brought together under dire circumstances. Through many adventures they came to build the first Kingdom where all ponies and creatures would be united and free, The Kingdom of Everfree.

An alicorn has appeared in Ponyville searching for a solution to save Princess Luna from being overcome by Nightmare Moons influence. Princess Luna must make peace with her nightmare. As the new alicorn works to save the Princess Luna, secrets of Equestria's past are revealed, and the ponies try to repel evil as well as prepare for a powerful event in their future.
