Okay, The Butterfly Catchers is posted, and seems to be generally going down alright. Sigh of relief.

In truth, reading back over it, I'm not hugely enamoured of it as a piece of writing. I feel in hindsight that the nuances could have been done better, with a bit more detail and a bit less bland description of actions. It needs more sensory description, and it could perhaps have been a little more delicate in places. All in all, I consider it postable, but it could have been better.

Well then, that's it. A Bluebird's Song is complete.

Amusingly enough, it was originally planned to run for about five-or-six chapters and be done with in about three weeks. I designed it as my first attempt at story-writing on any kind of multi-chapter scale, and thought I'd get past it and onto bigger things pretty fast. Seven months and 200,000 words later, it turns out I was very wrong indeed.

Okay, just to let you guys know that the epilogue is well underway. It's hovering around 3000 words now, and I'm guessing it's about halfway done. Obviously, I'll do a proper tie-up blog post once it's actually posted, and the story's finished.

First off, Chapter 44 is now gone, and I feel an awful lot better for its absence. It will probably rear its head again in the form of a bonus chapter of some description, but now I feel free to get to work on the epilogue properly.

Okay, I now have no idea what's going on. Yesterday, on two occasions, I accidentally clicked 'Unpublish' on a couple of chapters and needed to republish them, resulting in people getting update emails about the story for no reason. That, in itself, was no great disaster, but for some reason I'm now getting spammed with emails telling me that "A Bluebird's Song has updated." I've had 5 at this point, and no republishings have occurred today.
