Some promises can't be broken, no matter how hard they seem to keep. You just have to keep going, no matter what.

Just a simple bittersweet one-shot I wrote up over a couple hours.

Padlock was never one to stay in one place for too long. He preferred to live in the streets rather than live the high life. After an "altercation" he needs a new place to live, and finds himself in Ponyville. Twilight Sparkle takes an interest in this strange stallion after hearing him use an odd phrase. Intent on understanding this living enigma, she tries to learn about him through gentle prodding and pestering. Mostly pestering though.

I came up with the idea for this story after trying to describe the concept of contentment to a friend. After struggling to explain it to him for a while, I finally just said "C'est La Vie".

Indie Cred, a failed DJ relives his past while working a dead end job. This story is written as a series of flashbacks throughout an overarching narrative. Naught words and hurt feelings abound.

This was the first fic I wrote, but I'd been too self conscious to actually do anything with it. The main character has a lot of my personality in him, and the story highlights a lot of sore spots in my past. I had no clue what I was writing when I began this journey, but found the words flowing from me like a fountain. This is not a particularly happy tale. The main reason I was so hesitant to post this is that it shows a lot about who I am inside, something I've worked very hard to keep hidden. After letting a close friend read it, I decided that I would give in and put it out there for the world to see.

Left and Leaving is a short story about the loss of a loved one, and the emotions that go hand in hand with it. There is some harsh language in this story, so be warned. Sometimes the generally accepted faux-curses of the pony world don't convey the emotion required.

I wrote this story over about 5 hours. I started writing because I was bored, but have found it to be rather therapeutic. This story was difficult for me to write, as it opens up a lot of well hidden emotions. On more than one occasion, I had to stop as the memories I was working from became too painful to focus on.

This is not a happy story, though it isn't exactly a sad story either. A few years ago, this would have had a very different ending, but I've been trying to focus more on redemption these days. I'm not the happiest camper out there, but I'm trying to get myself better. Writing this has helped some.

"For Your Eyes Only" is a horror story written in first person narrative through a letter. It details an expedition into the Everfree forest, and the terror that lies in wait. I won't give away too many details here, as I attempted to keep information in short supply throughout the story. Giving stuff up here would ruin the mood.

There is a lot of strong language in this story, as well as pony-based death. Keep the foals away from this one.

Most of the characters in this story are based in some way on people I've worked with in the Air Force. Though the story is written from the perspective of an Army Officer, I actually have little experience working with the Army, so some of my terminology will be off. I ended up using terms and phrases from all branches, as I've ended up working with everybody over the years in some fashion.
