My favorite heros are villians.

More than anywhere else. · 5:42pm February 7th

I'm not sure if I'm just naturally stoic, or maybe it's another fraction of "guyness" that actually stuck. Most of the time I think my only mentally male feature is having to carry everything out of the car at once. I even joke about it.

I don't physically feel sad very much.

That's not to say that I'm immune, I'm not. And I think I've got empathy in spades. I make a great shoulder, and a good ear. But to feel moved, personally? Just doesn't happen a lot. Not even when Ma died.

Pandemic Friends - How to be friends when you can't be friends. · 4:34am Dec 5th, 2020

It's always a little bit weird when you try to apply cartoons to reality.

I think it's about as weird when you work the idea the other way - try to apply reality to cartoons.

If they were still making MLP:FiM, and tried to make an episode about a pandemic that forced creatures to stay apart, what might that look like?
Something I'd watch, for sure.

I'll still be here. · 5:54pm Oct 12th, 2019

Not that I have a large army of followers, but even after the finale today, I'll still be here. I'm going to keep my sponsorship going for some time yet.

Sometimes, people have to say things out loud to really realize them. You can have a thought internally for ages, but until you say it, it never quite solidifies. These are the sorts of things that usually start as dreaded or horrified whispers, like my divorce after 13 years.

If you're overdue enough, it becomes due again. · 2:54am Oct 29th, 2018

I've got an admission to make, and it's appropriate for this time of year.
I'm a fan of the specific sub-genre of horror movies you might call torture porn. My favorite of the "classic" horror movies was Hellraiser. It didn't hurt that Pinhead had a lot of great quotes. I read the Clive Barker book the series was based on and was firmly "meh", but the movies were still good.

Gahhhh · 10:48am Oct 8th, 2017

I hadn't indented to post anything just now, but I just finished Carry Me Home. I haven't cried since something like '07. When he uses the Sad tag, he really means it. Still, it's well done. If you need a good, sad story, look no further.

Bring tissues though. You're going to need them.

New Chapter of Salvation · 10:17am Mar 6th, 2015

Oh don't mind me. I'll be over here rolling around in a delightful new chapter of a story I thoroughly enjoy by an author I frequently favorite.

Om nom nom. *rolls side to side in a glorious pile of text* *kicks feet*

More writing? · 7:30am Feb 3rd, 2015

It feels like I've got at least two other stories in the cooker. If Drop the Needle is way more popular than I expect, I might try a sequel. I'm thinking a slice of life / comedy staring Twilight, and an adventure with Twilight.

For the record, Twilight isn't my favorite pony, but she might be the one I have the most in common with.

Avatar Musings · 6:39am Feb 3rd, 2015

I might at some point want an actual avatar of my own. Folks seem to have a lot of luck finding something around the tubes. I don't think I'll be quite that lucky. Not that I expect art to magically land on my doorstep or anything if I ask, but I might point back at this later.

I'm surprised there aren't more Chocolate Factory-esque stories.

Granted, we have the immortal Rainbow Factory, and it's awesome theme song. (Song was first fyi)

I'm just going to leave this here.....
