I'm not too happy. I'm not freaking out, and I'm certainly not going to ragequit, but I'm not especially happy either. I never liked the old "Twilight Becomes An Alicorn" trope back when it only happened in fanfiction, so seeing it become irrevocable canon is almost enough to make me cringe. The episode handled it well enough to avoid shark-jumpage, but the implications for future seasons and for the fandom reek of unpleasantness.

Okay, so that FlutterMac thing ended up being more than a oneshot. Big deal. To quote my favorite author*, "the tale grew in the telling" - it just turned out to be a much longer story than I had originally imagined.
