This story is a prequel to Forever Wolfpony.

On a brightly lit night, Apple Bloom, along with her friends, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, delve into the depths of the Everfree Forest. Why? Because Apple Bloom needs a specific herb that grows only at night in the dangerous area for a potion, and she figured that the two best ponies to go with her would be none other than her best friends in all of Equestria. Despite their arguments, they joined her anyway.

However, the night they journey into the woods was the night of the full moon; a time when only the most dangerous creatures of the Everfree are roaming and prowling about. They soon encounter one of these creatures, but get into more than they bargain for.

It's tough being a Wolfpony (werewolf). The constant need to hunt, the pain and suffering that happens to both the cursed and the ones around them, and worst of all: the guilt that sets upon them whenever they learn of their deeds as a monster.

For Fullmoon, this has been his life for three years. While he has kept his curse under wraps for that amount of time, the poor colt constantly struggles with keeping it in check. But once he finds an ancient spell book all about Wolfponies, he leaps at the opportunity to finally get himself a cure, and save both himself and the denizens of Ponyville. Will the spell finally save him, or will it cause more trouble than if he had never found it in the first place?

Hearts and Hooves Day has finally arrived among the small town of Ponyville, and everypony is excited for it. Except for Fullmoon, who doesn't have a very special somepony. However Hearts and Hooves Day is also the day of the Hearts and Hooves Dance, and it seems that everypony is taken in his class, so it seems like he doesn't have many choices other than to go alone. But thanks to the Crusaders agreeing to help him, his hopes have been raised heavily, getting him excited for the dance.
