Signal Boost: The Fishbowl · 3:43pm Jun 24th, 2018

Shrink Laureate has been one of my most reliable editor/pre-readers for a while now, and I've been returning the favor with this novel-length Equestria Girls story he's been working on during the last... well, a bit longer than a while now. Shrink wanted to get it right, get it finished, release it not exactly complete - he's going to be releasing it twice-weekly on a chapter basis - but finished.

And so, today, it is finished, and now released into the world:

Turning Over The Favorites Pile · 7:50pm May 28th, 2018

The old list of standards is still the standard, but I figured it was a good time to flip 'em over and put some new ones on top of the mulch pile.

A Setting Of Suns · 5:47pm May 20th, 2018

I've been sitting on this one for over half a year, for extraneous reasons which I won't get into here. I went into some detail on the origins of this story, of a random PM sparking a notion, rather different from that tale that the requester asked for. Sorry about that, dragon whisper 243. This is my first attempt at a pure crossover, and it was something of a research stretch, mostly due to the challenges of working in a

Unusual Family Dynamics · 10:32am Apr 26th, 2018

So, I finally was able to get a new story down on pixels, and force-marched through the development and editing process. It's my first changeling story, and the first with Chrysalis as a character. It was, as I indicated in the author's notes, an inspiration accreditable to Oliver and the Pony Canon Research Society's usual post-episode brainstorming and goofing off in that outfit's discord server. We

Everypony Loves Origin Stories! · 11:30am Jan 24th, 2018

... or maybe not. I described the origins of Some Other Pony's Destiny in the author's notes on that story, so I won't waste your time by repeating myself on that subject. I've been trailing a string of half-begun or half-conceived stories like this for the last five months or so, and so, that being the case, here's one check-box on the list checked off. Honestly, I didn't intend it to become a Ray Bradbury sort of story when I conceived it, but that's what emerged on the page.

So, Yeah. · 10:41pm Jan 14th, 2018

I've been tormenting the folks on FiMFiction Discord for months with this silly bollocks. Do I think that Equestria's financial system is actually underwritten with the alchemical transubstantiation of base elements into golden specie by... well, alicorn piss?

Probably not?

Anyways, since I haven't actually been getting much else done the last three weeks or so, here's something seriously not serious. For a change.

On The Completion of Twilight In Plain Sight · 4:05pm Dec 27th, 2017

So, that was a thing.  A short novel, conceived, written, and delivered in the course of a month. Twilight In Plain Sight was a happy accident, and the most successful thing I've done on the site so far. I've been putting my editors through an awful lot, pushing out regular chapters in such close succession, but they came through with useful advice and invaluable feedback at every step along the way.

A HiE I Will Never Write · 3:31pm Dec 16th, 2017

As I left my mother's front step one sultry May morning, in an unseasonable heat-wave that had broken the rainy season, I resolved to strike out into the country and see more of the world than I'd ever seen before. My rucksack over my shoulder, and my feet tucked into a sturdy and well-broken pair of boots, I swung out into a long and mile-devouring stride. The rolling hills disappeared beneath my heels, and the world unfolded swale by swale as I made my way northward. Each night I found a

Hanging Out In Kish Valley · 12:01am Nov 12th, 2017

So, the nearest Arbys to where I live is the next county over, in a truck-stop in central bucolic Milroy, PA. Which also happens to be the centre of Amish society, such as it is, in this part of Pennsylvania. The Kish Valley supposedly has twelve non-communing sects of Amish in its several dozen square miles of valley bottomland. What this means is that if you hang out in the commercial strip around said truck-stop in Milroy, you'll end up seeing a lot of Amish and their one-hoss carts.

About the Cakes, in the generation before Cup Cake and her offworlder husband. There are some bits and pieces of the family's story which 'Pinkie' Rock wouldn't talk about, to anypony. But the things that Pinkie knows, and doesn't want to think about, are still important to the siblings and family she left behind in Ponyville.
