Thirteenth: A Nightmare On Blog Street · 5:26am Oct 22nd, 2020
Okay, so I'm nearly done with my first full-length story here... and it feels both amazing and somewhat sad.
It's only 'smoke & mirrors' if you don't WANT to believe in the magic.
Okay, so I'm nearly done with my first full-length story here... and it feels both amazing and somewhat sad.
My new job is ROUGH: 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week. FEH.
However, it's also given me a chance to appreciate the idea of working; I'm one of those folks who feels that as long as I am able to work, I should work. I'm not knocking welfare so much, as I'm saying that it helps me feel productive, like I'm actually making headway in this thing we refer to as Life - forward headway, in fact.
Folks, just to make you aware, I have gotten in some wonderful art from the incredible hand of Rutkotka... and let me tell you, she's AMAZING.
Okay, the story I'm working on is really getting into gear... and I'm STOKED seeing folks reading it!
I admit it; after I publish a chapter, I usually hang around for a moment to see if anyone notices. I'm happy to report that EVERY TIME I release another chapter, someone's reading it almost instantly! THAT, dear readers, is one of the things that keeps me going - knowing that SOMEONE sees it, and is (hopefully) enjoying it enough to be there as soon as possible.
I'm still here... and the artwork for the next chapter is almost complete! (The chapter itself already is...)
I hope I haven't lost as many readers as I'm afraid I have, but I suppose we'll see when the chapters start coming forward again, eh?
Don't worry - I'm not falling behind or any such thing... I'm simply waiting for the accompanying artwork to finish before I post.
This one should be a GOOD one too, as the artist's work, in my humble opinion, is wonderful. Plus, the coming scene will be made so much better by adding the art to go with it. It'll be worth the wait, I believe.
But yes, I can give up a few things for y'all, to keep you interested - at least a little bit:
I am thankful to the little pokes that I give at my story chapters, because it means that I can crunch time to get them out within a reasonable amount of time.
The first artwork for Obsidian: Daughter of Sombra is now in place!
I have now added artwork to chapter two: "Meanie" by Naiya The Brony - an artist who wanted to be certain they got it right. I really enjoyed the detals in the facial expressions, and how crisp the art style was. Plus, as far as backgrounds go, I thought they did a fine job of it - and it was supposedly something Naiya was just working on improving; I think it looks fine and dandy, myself!
I'm a roleplayer, through and through.
I have been doing so since the age of nine; a long time ago, back in the year of our Lord, nineteen-hundred-and-eighty-six, I first laid mine eyes, hands and heart upon a roleplaying game called ROBOTECH, which was based on this kickass cartoon I sometimes caught on TV, in the early, early mornings where even the crickets are in bed.
I've got an idea, and I'm hoping it works out well for everyone.
I'm currently trying to commission single scene artwork for my story - you know, a scene per chapter - and I'll try to get a different artist for each chapter. I'll make sure to give them proper cred, natch, then they can possibly get free exposure/advertisement from folks who see the story, while folks who like that artist might actually give the story a read.
