I've got an idea, and I'm hoping it works out well for everyone.
I'm currently trying to commission single scene artwork for my story - you know, a scene per chapter - and I'll try to get a different artist for each chapter. I'll make sure to give them proper cred, natch, then they can possibly get free exposure/advertisement from folks who see the story, while folks who like that artist might actually give the story a read.
Granted, that means... a LOT of artwork. I calculated out how many chapters I'll have, and I have the Answer... but it doesn't look good for my wallet. Still, if I can manage to pull this off, I'm hoping that it'll help generate traffic for folks; artists in this community can always use another fan or two, so I don't see why I can't help that along & pay someone for their rendition of whichever scene I choose...
Or, if they like the story, I'd probably let THEM choose.
But at any rate, here's to hoping things get rolling with it sooner than later; the money I can put towards it is already set aside, but the first few artists are fairly busy; the caveat at being good at your trade. I'm not mad at them, not by a long shot - I'm just a 'impatiently patient' person, meaning I'll not bug them about the commission, all the while squrming as I await even the slightest mention of the work in question.
I try to respect the artst, but the kid in me is bouncing off the walls; so I wait patiently, trying to ignore the screaming hissy fit inside my skull. I usually succeed, but sometimes, oh Lord, the Green Mile is so long. *rueful chuckle*
I wish you luck,
and I hope your wallet does not begin to cry from this
