New chapter of "Always Had" is finally up! · 5:54pm Aug 14th, 2016

Finally, after -- what, two months? -- the chapter which contains the big climax from "Hearth's Warming Eve" is finished and published! The soon-to-be founders of Equestria find themselves trapped in a cave system with the windigos bearing down on them. If you've been keeping up to date with it, here's the link to the latest chapter.

Quick Note · 5:56am Aug 7th, 2016

Specifically for Always Had: Chapter 14 will cover what happened in the cave. Cave system, rather. And it's a longer chapter, so far about 3500 words. PLUS there'll be a side story that takes place a few years after Always Had from concepts I developed while working on the cave's layout.

Again, apologies for the long break. I'll do my best to have it up next Sunday morning.

July Update · 2:29pm Jul 3rd, 2016

Just a quick update. I'd hoped to have the next chapter of Always Had published today, but real life got in the way.

On songs and birthdays · 10:40pm Jun 30th, 2016

When I work at Target, my main responsibilities are helping unload the truck and taking care of all the cardboard we go through each truck day. Since getting my smartphone, I've taken to listening to music while I bale. I've listened to Hey Ocean (Ashleigh Ball's band), Willa (the artist name that Dragon Lord Ember's VA Ali Milner goes by), and lately all the songs from seasons 1-5 of MLP and all the Equestria Girls films.

Has it already been five weeks? · 9:42am Jun 21st, 2016

It definitely doesn't seem like it's been five weeks. Real life can be a pain sometimes, but I'll be sure to be more active on working on it.

Chapter 13 almost ready · 4:17am May 15th, 2016

That's right, folks, Chapter 13 of Always Had is finally up to my standards. I'll do a little more editing, but I'll try to publish the next chapter tomorrow morning at the usual time (i.e. about 10 hours from the time I posted this blog).

What's it called... · 4:36am May 10th, 2016

when my mom thinks I'm lying or I suddenly made something up when I tell her I don't talk because she doesn't listen to me, and she immediately shoots it down, defending herself by saying she can't listen to me if I don't talk to her, and I haven't felt comfortable talking to her about my problems for a decade or so because she never takes my problems seriously aka doesn't listen to me?

On the plus side, though, I've made actual progress on chapter 13. Several hundred words' worth.

On Your Marks · 11:52pm Apr 26th, 2016

It took over two weeks, but I finally figured out something interesting to say about this episode. The overall bronalysis reaction to this episode (well, the half dozen or so that I've seen anyway) all appear to agree: this episode is a good follow-up to "Crusaders of the Lost Mark" but otherwise is a bit forgettable.

What's Coming in the Future · 2:20am Apr 26th, 2016

Many things.

...

Man, what would it be like if I just ended this there? But no, I'm gonna be serious, as this is actually about a lot of things I'll be doing in the next few months. First off, I have at least six stories in the works. Some are published works in progress, others I'm going to tease, and others I'll be as vague as possible. Second, episode review blogs. Third, convention news (which I'll post another/more blog(s) about as the convention approaches).

The Gift of the Maud Pie · 12:16am Apr 5th, 2016

Before I watched the episode, I knew from the title that it was a reference to the classic Christmas short story "The Gift of the Magi". If you're familiar with the story, then you can pretty much guess the plot.
