Ice Fall Update November 19th 2015 · 11:02pm Nov 19th, 2015
Word count so far 213,502 over 528 pages, so that's getting on for double the word count of When the Snow Melts. No wonder i'm so knackered all the time
All these moments will be lost, like tears in the rain.

420 Pages done so far (as of 07/11/2015).
Discovered music by Thyrai - Animal Care. Love this track and its really great background listening when writing. Also listening to Windwolf, Nicholas Dominique and several film soundtracks. One of my faves is also Jean Michelle Jarre - Waiting for Cousteau. If you haven't heard it, you're missing out on a treat for your ears.
306 pages done so far, but that's without editing of course. Some poor buggers going to have to sort that mess out for me before the 'apostrophe police' catch up with me
Finished page 200 of Ice Fall tonight. I have to say, the way this story has taken shape has been exciting and quite different to anything i've written before. It has adventure, action, tragedy and romance, but also explores more complex interpersonal relationships which lead to unwitting betrayal in the pursuit of a love that is sadly no more than a forlorn hope.
Well, its coming along nicely. Ice Fall is on around 85 pages so far and is starting to take shape. I have a funny feeling it may well end up a lot longer than i originally thought as it covers a great deal more than WTSM. I want to incorporate elements that i personally really enjoy, but you'll have to wait and see as to what they are.
Ice Fall is the follow on from When the Snow Melts. Although WTSM was written as a spin off from the Fairlight books, i've been asked if there will be a follow on. I don't want to spoil WTSM by expanding too much on the relationship between Rush and Tia any more than i already have as i like to leave some thing to the readers imagination. However, there will be a cameo role in book 5 of Fairlight for Rush and Celestia.
Well, here it is, book four of the Fairlight saga.
Well, its true. When the Snow Melts is reaching its conclusion. Last chapter is in editing and proof reading stage, then its just the epilogue.
Sad really, but i'm keen to start on my new project, which is re-writing my Fairlight series for 'the wider audience' (Drum roll). Whether anyone actually likes it, well, we'll see.
Made a boat load of spelling, punctuation and grammatical corrections tonight.
I suppose I shouldn't be proof reading at 5:30am. That'll teach me!
Considering how critical I can be of others who use terrible punctuation and horrendous grammar, I can't really complain when the grammar police call to point out the error of my ways!
I've been up since 4:30am working on the latest chapter before i go to work.
It's strange how writing works, at least with me. Some days i'll just not feel like writing, some days i can barely stop. I have to 'feel' the story when i'm working on it, transferring my own emotional energy into the story and hopefully, it comes out in my words and the imagination of the reader.
