    Story update and other stuff

Believe it or not I've actually started a new job at long last. I'd only planned on staying with my last employer six months, but ended up being stuck there for nearly five years. During my time there I had to put up with some of the worst bigotry I've ever encountered, despite the company claiming to be 'inclusive, supportive of diversity, etc'. Spoiler alert : They weren't!

    Bon Bon's story.

Seems to be coming along well. 365 pages at 192,769 words.

    We'll get there.

    Story Update

Now on page 280 of Bon Bon's story. Looking good so far, but quite a technical challenge as she's been involved in other parts of the Fairlight story arc and I need to be careful tying it all together. I'm also aware that I will need to incorporate Lyra's story into it too.

    Continuing on

Despite one of the readers claiming that they had felt like vomiting after reading my last story, I have pressed on with my scribblings. Apparently eliciting a physical and -or- an emotional response from a story is considered a good thing. Or so I'm told.

Well, its coming along nicely. Ice Fall is on around 85 pages so far and is starting to take shape. I have a funny feeling it may well end up a lot longer than i originally thought as it covers a great deal more than WTSM. I want to incorporate elements that i personally really enjoy, but you'll have to wait and see as to what they are.

I admit i was rather reluctant at first as i wasn't really 'feeling' the story. That is, i didn't have the 'emotional connection' to it that i have with the Fairlight series and WTSM. However, i'm pleased to say that it's really beginning to hit the old heart strings as i flesh out the characters more. I hope readers will come to like them the way i do. This will be particularly relevant if you've enjoyed the Fairlight series, as i think you'll appreciate the added dimension to some of the other characters that appear there.

There are some heavy battle scenes in this story, not really surprising considering the events of WTSM, however i didn't want to dwell on them too much. Rather, i wanted a perspective you don't see very often - that is, what is it like to actually be there, amongst the massed ranks. What can you see, what can you hear, the sounds, the smells. You get the idea.

I'll also be interested to see how readers find my interpretation of Luna and Nightmare Moon; that side of the story is really shaping up. Luna gets a fair amount of attention in the Fairlight series, including touching on her relationship with Lord Maroc of the tribe of the four winds, but she is still more a background character to that story. I address this more in Ice Fall, and will be covering her interaction with Celestia too. In fact, there's so much going on its going to be a bit of a marathon task to keep track of ! I hope its worth wait, and everyone enjoys it as much as i am writing it. :twilightblush:
