So this will be fun · 2:34am Jul 17th, 2014

... Hi there.

After a couple months of idly browsing through stories on FimFic, I've noticed that there have been more than a few times in which a story will have an error (either grammatically or other) that kinda ruins the moment.

For example in a recent story I've read, there was a very serious moment recently after a character died. Near the end of the chapter, the author spelled "would" "wolud". Unfortunately for people like me, "wolud" sounds hilarious.

Quick Rundown

Basically, I'm gonna go ahead and try editing stuff, because of reasons. So, without further ado...

Hi.

Here's a nifty FAQ filled with questions that nobody has asked me.

1.) What are your preferences of stories?
Take a look at the favourites bar below. There, you should be able to gain a pretty good sense of the types of stories that I enjoy the most.

2.) Favorite story of all?
Exchange. Getmeouttahere does a fantastic job at showing elements from dirty comedy to fantastic world-building. Shame we probably wont be seeing anything from him anymore :(.

3.) Is NSFW ok?
I don't mind. But please, if it is going to be clop, at least give it a plot... as in, the story. Not the- nevermind. Also, topics such as rape, bondage, punishment sex, etc. are not really my thing... that is, if they are the entirety of the story. If they tie into a much larger part of the rest of the story, then I can completely understand and accept.

4.) What about gore n' stuff?
Gore in the sense of things such as war I'm pretty much completely ok with. In the sense of a horror story, I'm fine with it until it gets to a point of ridiculousness. There is a line between spooky and just trying too hard.

5.) What experience do you have with editing?
Professionally? None. However, throughout my high-school "career" I've generally been seen as someone who is quite capable of helping with editing. I've helped quite a few friends (both locally and cross-country) with editing assignments (mainly research papers, but that hopefully shouldn't be a deterrent >_>). Not that I minded, I usually volunteered to help, as I've found that I do like to edit... at least as I've seen it.

6.) Where to contact?
I should be able to respond relatively quickly if you PM me. I almost never check my e-mail, but I'm familiar with Google Docs. Speaking of which...

7.) What programs/tactics do you use to edit?
Probably the easiest way to do things would be though Google Docs, due to it's immediate response and my previously stated familiarity with it. Other than that, I make sure to read over everything carefully, quickly fixing obvious errors (such as spelling "would" "wolud"). However, if there is something that requires revision or if I'm not sure it's an error or not (such as in the case of puns), I'll either write down a note or comment on it directly to the author.

Thanks for having a look at my horribly messy profile that describes my complete inexperience with not only maintaining a profile, but my lovely plunge into editing.

Criticism is... welcome? Please don't be too mean. c:
