Well, it's done. In a moment of either stark raving lunacy OR once-in-a-decade lucidity, I just deleted all my WoW characters permanently. I think I made the oldest of them during Wrath of the Lich King, around 2009 or so. All that rep, gone. All those transmog outfits, all those weeks spent soloing old raid dungeons, all those sunk costs, abandoned.

The good news: I got my copy of the Journal of the Two Sisters today, and of course the final issue of the Star Swirl the Bearded storyline in the official comic books ^^ This issue didn't have very much Star Swirl in it, but it did have him say this incredibly Star Swirly line:

Yesterday, no less a personage than Neil Gaiman graced my burg with his presence. He held a book signing for the release of the Norwegian translation of Fortunately the Milk, a book I didn't know existed until I saw the posters for the signing a week ago. I ended up reading it in one sitting last night before I went to bed. It was brilliant.

As it turns out, the book has some pretty blatant references to MLP in it. I squeed.

Just got an email from Equestria Daily. They - I like this phrasing - cannot in good conscience post a story that suggests Big Mac had sexual relations with Winona, and ask that I remove that scene.

I haven't done any of the EQD Writer's Training Grounds stuff. In fact I've never really tried writing from prompts. But since one of the prompts for the finale is right up my alley, I feel like I kind of have to.

I am somewhat gratified to learn that, while Star Swirl the Bearded doesn't understand friendship with ponies, he was apparently able to befriend a demon who had literally escaped from hell.

Star Swirl the Bearded, everybody: doesn't have a clue about people, but knows a thing or two about demons.

I'm still pondering if there is any way to fit this into my stories. There probably isn't, sadly.

Tirek is a curious fellow. I was trying to place his personality and methods, and found it difficult. Because it changes in the course of the episode. Tirek actually gets a whole rise-to-power arc within the episode, and changes completely in the course of it.
