So I got sick a while back, which in my case meant no writing until I got better. The subject of Dark Souls came up in the forum and I realized that it's been so long since I played the first one that my intimate knowledge of it has had time to fade. Overcome with nostalgia and needing a way to relax and pass the time, I made a new character and unleashed her unto the monster infested kingdom of Lordran.
Sooo.... I watched Shadow Play parts 1 and 2. And it's not a bad, though I definitely liked the previous finale better. This one felt a bit rushed, like they had a really epic idea but not enough time to do it justice. On the plus side, it does provide tons and tons of new lore.
But that's also the problem. You see...
Well, this video pretty much sums up my reaction:
I've been writing a lot for about a month now, which is probably the longest period of sustained motivation I can remember experiencing. To be specific, I've written about 31200 words, or three chapters. That's on top of the four chapters I had already completed earlier, so I've actually managed to get a lot done.
My diabetes doesn't give me that much trouble these days, at least compared to the symptoms that lead me to discover it in the first place. The most notable thing is the tendency for my limbs to fall asleep, especially my feet while I'm sitting by my computer, which is practically all the time. I often don't notice it right away, but when standing up I sometimes can't feel one of my feet at all. Usually this goes away in a few seconds as I move it around.
So, one of our older cats disappeared around midsummer and has been missing since then. Yesterday my parents claimed to have seen her briefly when the returned home from a trip, but when we went looking we found nothing.
Today she came back as if nothing happened. She was really hungry but otherwise seemed to be in good condition.
So a while ago I decided to perform a little experiment: I had been thinking about what would happen if you brew coffee on milk - as in actually replacing the water with milk rather than mixing some into the finished coffee - and what the resulting beverage would taste like.
A few days ago I finally decided an empirical test was in order. I tried both brewing with ground coffee beans and using instant coffee, and will now outline the results since I have nothing better to do.
