This chapter reminded me of the Red Dwarf episode the mechanoid character Kryten gets turned into a human and asks his friend Lister about his new penis.

Loved Kryten's description of it, "the last chicken in the shop look" then when he gives Lister two polaroid photos and Lister's reaction when he puts them together.

Krysten "How do you suppose that happened?"
Lister "W-what were you thinking of at the time?"
Kryten "i was just idly flipping through the electric appliance catalogue and when i came to the section on vacuum cleaners my underpant elastic was suddenly catapulted across the medical bay"
