DITZY! “GLOMPTACKLE” Intervention Rescue is a go!
Whoa, her eyes got derped even more Not a bad thing! As long as they don't hurt and she's okay with them, I'm gonna hope that all is well.
For a second there, I read 'postal' as 'portal' XD
'Ash' Tree Lane? Oh wow, I never knew The Desolation had a sense of humor
WAIT HOLD THE WHAT-
Oh crap, drop everything and grab Rarity!
It seems the Doctor knows what's going on...
If the reality-warping streets weren't enough of a red flag, then this definitely is. That post office is no longer normal.
I knew it. The Fears, all of them, are using her.
Screwball is so hard to pin down: she obviously still cares about Ditzy, but she's also The Distortion. Hmmmm....early or delay, but she needed Ditzy with Sunset that very moment, that day. November 24th.....
Another mystery to solve and I'm surprised that Sunset didn't immediately go to Rarity's or Sweet Apple Acres, but I think that's gonna happen soon enough. “HUGS” I'm deeply invested in this, well done once again

...Actually, I didn't catch that layer of the pun. I actually chose it for Ditzy's first delivery because the book it's from has much more... Spirally connotations. Still, great catch on making it a double reference.
Those two are becoming much of a muchness for Ditzy, admittedly!
Alas, poor Best Human... though now I can't help but think back to a relatively old piece of my own writing, where Ditzy's body and soul got turned inside-out and she became an eldritch behemoth that blurred the line between nightmarish dragon and colossal, disembodied eye. And several other of my takes on her. Funny how well she works with the benignly eldritch...
In any case, brilliant work capturing the toll this kind of thing takes on someone who only wants to bring a little sunshine into everyone's day. Looking forward to more. It's anyone's guess what this will lead to down the line. Especially given how Sombra never stopped being a thing. To say nothing of the delivery to the boutique...
It's always interesting to see those who exist close/next to the fears, but don't exactly fall entirely within their grasp. They seem to be the ones who last the longest with both their lives and humanity roughly in tact. Robert Smirke, Jurgen Leitner, Mikaele Salesa, etc. How they pull this off was best described by Mikaele; they take up the role (knowingly or not) of a narrative archetype (i.e. The Researcher, The Librarian, The Merchant, etc.) and make sure that everyone knows who they are rather than what they are. Fulfilling the role in the narrative while not getting lost in it. Simultaneously irreplaceable and unforgettable.
Sadly, it seems that Dinky here has fallen too far into the Spiral for that to be an option for her anymore. Hopefully the team can work something out to allow her to retain a grasp on her identity before she loses it entirely.
Another beautiful chapter, I'm looking forward to more Müsterie!
