Long Ago

Once, long ago, two races lived in Harmony. PONIES and MONSTERS.

For many ages peace reigned and Harmony prospered.

It did not last.

One day a powerful BOSS MONSTER, a faerie named Sombra fell from grace. Turning on both races he sought to conquer all.

After a long battle the MONSTERS were victorious in stopping him.

But it was already too late. The peace had shattered.

The power of a single fallen faerie terrified the PONIES.

Afraid of the power of the MONSTERS they sealed the weakened race underground, behind a barrier powered by the souls the tyrant had stolen in his madness.

And then, in time, they forgot.

Much better you explained things and now the rest of the story makes more sense for it in my opinon.
