Not to mention the chapter (and story in general) suffers from what's called "Wall of Text" disorder: where paragraphs are giant and clumped together making it unpleasant to read.
Call it a personal belief/preference, but In my experience a paragraph should never have more than 5 sentences at max or two very large ones (2-3 is ideal), and on top of that should always be double-spaced.
