Surprise raised her gun and fired. A stunned silence fell over the Elementals as they watched Twilight's body collapsed to the floor.

Kind of vague, given the usual level of detail that goes into someones death, in that it doesn't even actually state that Twi was even hit. Just that Surprise fired and Twi fell. Obviously I'm thinking that Twi was hit, but I'm more inclined to believe she fell unconscious.
If I were to apply a certain 'rule' of anime to this story: "If you don't see the death, they probably aren't dead", then consider that all you know is that there was a shot and Twi fell, with no details beyond that, she's probably alive.
