Goodbye is not farewell - Part 4

It had been exactly a year now, since I had found Twilight Sparkle as an egg. It was the most weirdest experience of my life, but it had an enormous effect on it. I’m going to give her a special gift. She was already bigger now, not an adult, I could see that, but she’s older than a filly.
She can use magic already very good, but, sadly enough, she doesn’t have her cutiemark yet. I’ve been thinking about that for a while now. Should I teach her more or something?
I don’t know what to do. I have to think about that at a different time though, I’m at school right now, writing this in my new found diary. Well, I didn’t find it, sort of. I have searched all over the internet for this special diary, one in Twilight’s colors with the cutiemark from the series on the front.

“Miss Fayblossom?”

Oh god…

It’s the teacher, I have to close this now. Otherwise I will have a problem.

“Yes, mister Gloom” I sat straight, closing my diary I was just writing in. I had bought it from my birthday money. The teacher looked at me angrily. This wasn’t good.

“What were you writing?” He asked. This really wasn’t good.

“Just, taking some notes…” I lied, not wanting him to pay any attention to it. He was very strict when it came to people not paying attention to him.

“Oh really?” he said, obviously sarcastically, he knew me better than that. He knew I was lying. “Why don’t you come up here and read it out loud for us?” I closed my eyes and groaned. This really, really wasn’t good. I gulped and shook my head slightly.

“N-no, I don’t want to…” I said quietly. Almost every student in class had their head turned towards me. I heard Gloom huff and I feared the worst. I had to read my diary out loud, that would have been just regularly bad if it was about something a normal girl would write, but with the information in my diary, I have an even bigger problem than that.

Mister Gloom sighed and turned back towards the rest of the class.

“Alright then, how do you solve this problem here?” He asked the class in general.

I sighed. Thank goodness, he had paid no further attention to me. No writing in his class again…

After that people in my class had asked me about what I was writing, ‘cause they all know I wasn’t taking any notes. I simply told them it was my diary and that I wasn’t going to tell them what I wrote. They seemed to take it like that, except for one guy. He was the most annoying boy in class; Arthur Mayline. Yes, he was family of Nickita, her nephew to be exact. I hated him the second I heard his name. Mayline. It just disgusted me. Though, surprisingly, I felt myself getting nervous around him. I had never been nervous around Nickita, so why him? I had asked myself that a few times, but I could never find an answer.

“Fayblossom”

He spat out my name as if it were a curse. I hated it when he did that, though I have no idea why. It just made me felt hurt. I looked at the guy. He had light brown, almost blonde, hair which was probably shoulder length, because he wore it in a tiny ponytail. He had beautiful deep brown eyes, just like Nickita. Though, every time I look at them I find myself lost in his gaze. I’m confused by these feelings. What’s going on?

He looked at me disgusted. “What’s in your diary?”

He had asked that every time I saw him. It made me angry and nervous together. I doubted on what to say.

“Did your mother never told you to butt out of a girls private life?”

My voice was almost as disgusted as his, though there was a slight hint of doubt. I hoped he didn’t hear that. Unfortunately, he had. He smirked widely and looked at me with those deep eyes. He could hypnotize people, at least that’s what I had heard. A lot of girls loved him, for his looks only of course. He wasn’t the nicest of guys.

“Maybe, maybe not.” He said, amusement in his voice. “Where is it, anyway?”

He looked at my bag, he was referring to my diary. I would never let him read it. There was a lock on it anyway and I had Twilight to guard the key.

“Like I would tell you” I said defensively. I stared at him as intensely as I could, but as I looked in his eyes I couldn’t help but get lost in them. He groaned and walked away, ignoring me completely. Stupid boy, I hate him! Did I?

That afternoon when I came back home I had a gift with me. For Twilight of course. She didn’t know I would bring a gift.
I walked into the house seeing it all cleaned. That surprised me, my mother hadn’t cleaned the house so intensely since she started internet dating. Weird. I walked further, seeing a note on the table.

‘Anna, please clean up your own room.
I couldn’t because it was locked’

Yeah, of course. As if she would clean my room if it even had been unlocked. I walked upstairs and unlocked my room. I saw Twilight laying on my bed peacefully. I smiled and gently sat beside her, taking the present and putting it next to her.

“Hey Twi?”

I gently woke her up. She was bigger than a year ago. She was also to heavy to carry in my arms. That would be a problem. I stroked her mane a bit and she opened her eyes.

“Mama? What’s going on?”

I hadn’t noticed the tears that had fell from my face. I had been crying. I hate my life, I hate the people around me, I don’t have friends… Those things had crossed my mind on my way back home.

“Nothing dear” I said as I patted her head. “It’s our one year anniversary” I said happily.

She was the only thing that kept me here. I’m almost 18, I can do what I want, well almost of course… Twilight looked at the box beside her surprised, but she beamed a smile at me as she sat up quickly.

“For me?” She asked. I nodded smiling brightly. I really hoped she was going to like it.

As she opened it with her teeth and partly with her magic she grinned widely. Curious of what was in it. When the last piece of paper fell the unicorn’s eyes widened and she grinned even wider.

“Thank you so much!” She said, hugging me tightly.

She turned back to the gift. It was a beautiful book. It was the book from the very first episode of the series. Where Twilight read about the ‘Elements of Harmony’. I had once read on the internet that there was someone who had made this book. It had taken a whole lot of effort and almost all my savings, but I had it and it was the perfect gift. Twilight opened it with her magic, going from page to page quickly. Her eyes were scanning every single letter.

“Hey, don’t read it all in one night” I said jokingly as she smiled at me. She was the only one who knew me.
After I cleaned up my room and enjoyed reading the book together with Twi, I went to sleep. My mother wasn’t home yet, and there was nothing to eat, so I just took an apple and dealt with it.

“I love you” I said. Twilight, who was in my arms, smiled too.

“I love you to, mama” She said as she drifted to sleep. I couldn’t help but smile wider. She was the best thing in my life and no one was going to take it away from me.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Twilight had read the book over and over again these past few months. She always wants me to read the book out loud for her and I love to do that. She’s like my daughter, even though we are a different species and from a different world, I still love her.
I had also told her about the show a few days ago. She was shocked at first, but when I showed it to her she liked it. There was just one problem. She had asked about the cutiemark Twilight Sparkle had in the series. I didn’t know how to answer that, but just told her what a cutiemark was. She wanted one, the one from the show. So she started practicing more magic, every day she studied. I had learned her how my laptop works, so she could use it. Of course, typing was a bit of a problem, but we solved that with magic.

It had been about a year and a half now. I had passed my first year at my new school and it was summer vacation. I loved summer vacation, that meant having more time with Twi. I loved spending time with her. I really want to help her to get her cutiemark, but she insisted in doing this alone. It was her job after all, so I wouldn’t push her.

Today was very quiet. My mother was downstairs, chatting on the computer again, and I was just reading a book I had recently bought. Twilight was doing some research about magic on my laptop again.

“Ah!”

I heard her gasp and looked at her. “What is it?” I asked.

“I don’t know, it’s acting weird again…” She said quietly, her voice soft from embarrassment.

She sometimes had troubles with the pc, so I had to help her, a lot. I didn’t mind though, I love to have someone who needs my help. She had grown a bit taller again, but she still hasn’t earned her cutiemark. I should take her outside sometime to practice magic. I nodded to myself as I finished resetting the laptop and putting aside my book.

The next day I decided to go out for a walk with her. The problem was though, that she was too big for the bag and she had grown too heavy to be held in my arms. As I was searching for a solution, Twilight was reading the book I bought her a few months ago again. She still loves reading it.

“Mama?”

I turned around and nodded for her to continue.

“Do you want to read it for me again?” She asked innocently, referring to the book beneath her face. I smiled. “Of course” And walked towards her, setting her in my lap and reading.

“Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled together and created harmony for all the land”

As I spoke, Twilight had closed her eyes, imagining how it was in this land. A bright smile was across her face as I continued.

“To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn. The younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects, all the different types of ponies”

Twilight knew what was coming next, the painful truth about the youngest sister, so she opened her eyes and looked at me as I continued again.

“But as time went on the younger sister became resentful. The ponies relished and played in the day her elder sister brought forth, but shunned and slept through her beautiful night.”

Twilight sighed, how could the younger be so resentful? She laid her head down on her hooves and listened to me as I told the story further.

“One fateful day, the younger unicorn refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn. The elder sister tried to reason with her, but the bitterness in the young ones heart had transformed her into a wicked mare of darkness. Night Mare Moon”

As I read this part, Twilight whimpered. It was a terrible thing to happen to a princess and Twilight wanted nothing but to help this unicorn in making the right decisions. I frowned a bit. She was going home one day, I knew that. Even if she felt that this was her home, I knew that one day, she would have to go back to Equestria and never return again.
She looked at me, asking me to continue, so I did.

“She vowed that she would shroud the land in eternal night. Reluctantly, the elder sister harnessed the most powerful magic know to ponydom: the Elements of Harmony.”

Twilight smiled as I dramatically told about the magic of the Elements of Harmony. She was very interested in these, but had not found anything about it on the internet. As I continued my reading, Twilight had closed her eyes again and leaned against my arm as I held the book.

“Using the magic of the Elements of Harmony, she defeated her younger sister, and banished her permanently in the moon. The elder sister took on responsibility for both sun and moon, and harmony has been maintained in Equestria for generations since.”

As I finished Twilight looked up at me. “Thank you, I really love listening to you reading” She said smiling brightly. I knew she was saying the truth, but something in the back of my mind warned me for her, for being so close with her, for being her ‘mother’.
