Beautiful wings

Shock Wave was startled by a pounding at her door. She quickly stashed her things back into her saddlebag and blew out the candle. She held her breath and peeked through the peephole in the door, trying to be as silent as possible.
It was that annoying Pinkie Pie again. The pink earth pony had what looked like a pink cannon in front of her. Shock Waves eyes widened as she slowly backed away from the door.

Had the ponies somehow figured out why she was in Ponyville? Where they going to take her out before her plan could come to light? Shock Wave was beginning to panic, her breathing becoming increasingly ragged as her flank hit the back wall of her temporary home.

'calm down, Wave.' She thought to herself. 'There's got to be another reason that she has a cannon. Its pink. Maybe its not for injuring. Maybe its for shooting animals. Yeah that's it.'

She tried to reassure herself and calm her heart, which just happened to be trying to leap from her chest. 'In one two three. Out one two three.' She calmed her breathing with her ritual. It helped. Now what to do about that tiresome Pinkie Pie.

"Shoooooock Waaaaaave!" The poofy pink maned pony's voice was muffled and yet still managed to annoy the crimson mare. "Are you home?"

Shock Wave stood silent, breathing slowly and calmly.

"Aww I guess she's not home... and my party cannon was filled with the perfect decorations." Shock wave could hear the pout in her voice and could practically see the pink mares lip sticking out. "Fine. I'll come back later."

She listened to the ponys hoof steps fade and finally relaxed. She had gotten so worked up over a decoration cannon. She sighed and relit her candle, and took a good look around. This place was very dusty. One big room with a small kitchen to the right of the front door. To the left was a small space for a bed. She wouldn't be using it. She didn't sleep.

She instead used that nook for her belongings. She laid out the plastic from the saddlebag and arranged the tools in an orderly fashion. A small butchers knife, a pair of pliers, a small spade, and about 20 hoof lengths of rope. Everything she needed to pull off her scheme. She pulled out her photo book again, as more recent memories washed over her and she smiled.

She had just turned 17. 10 years have passed since she learned her special talent. She finally arrived in Canterlot. It was midnight and she was getting a nervous tick. Her anger has been slowly getting the best of her and she needed a release. She recently discovered that the purple filly who scarred her had somehow become an alicorn princess. She snorted angrily.

'Princess' Twilight sparkle didn't deserve to be an alicorn. Why did she get wings while Shock Wave hid in sewers and ate from trash cans. She smiled. Soon the beautiful and kind princess would get what she deserved... but first... the red mare spotted another red pegasi wobbling away from a bar. She made her way quickly over to the drunk pony and caught him before he fell over.

"Are you okay sir?" She asked, faking a smile. "Do you need to a helping hoof?"

"Aren't you a pretty little filly." His words slurred, and his breath smelled horrible.

Shock wave scrunched her muzzle. "Here come this way."

She led him into a dark alley way, half dragging, half walking him, and dropped him onto the ground.

"Come over *Hic* here." He swayed as he tried to keep himself upright.

Shock wave pulled a small pocket knife from her saddlebag and grinned maniacally.

"Whatcha got there?" The colt asked, trying hard to focus.

She didn't say anything as she quickly and effectively stabbed him in the heart. His death was quick and painless. She flipped his lifeless body over as blood began to pool around him. She hummed as she worked, cutting his wings from his back. She would soon have wings more beautiful than Twilight Sparkle. When she finished, she wiped the sweat from her brow on the back of her hoof.

She smiled, her work nearly complete. She made incisions on her back, just below her shoulders. She didn't feel any pain. She was too elated to bother with something so minute. She pulled a needle and thread from her bag and began sewing the wings into the holes. It was a difficult process but having magic helped.

After awhile she was finally done. The wings would have to heal for awhile. She grabbed some rope and tied her new wings down so they could heal properly. The mare cleaned herself up, using a worn rag from the alleyway. She then moved the colt who had so graciously given her wings into the dumpster. She smiled, pleased with her work and began heading to her hotel room. Soon she would learn how to fly!
