Rain

I hate the rain
as it taps away
slowly melting my sugary smile
and candy coated exterior
leaving me bare
to its cold caressing
as I hide behind the tears of a clown
letting the rain strip me of colour
but wait
what’s that
the tapping
it’s gone
as light brakes through a dreary sky
as its warmth
removes a colder touch
revealing the smile
of a rainbow
upon the heels
of wilting wolf’s bane
and stormy days.
