How It Ends

Knock on the Door

Vinyl looks up from her records at the sound of knocking who could that be this late? she looks at the clock 6am, well, late for me.
she opens the door to find nopony there except for a large manila envelope, closing the door behind her she opens said envelope with a puzzled look on her face

the envelope contains a letter and a record that slides out as she tips the package.

Vinyl reads the letter slowly with a look of ever growing concern and grief.

placing the letter on the table she picks up the record and places it on the player

listening to the record through over sized headphones a single tear slides down her cheek

An overcast sky threatens to rain as a crowd of ponies gather around a small raised platform
We come here today to remember a dear friend
Mayor Mare stands on the raised platform looking over a sea of ponies with grief stricken faces, behind her is a wood coffin entirely plain except for a simple symbol adorning the center
three small balloons
a symbol usually associated with laughter today draws looks of only sadness

Pinkamena Diane Pie was a true friend to each and every pony here. and it comes as a true tragedy that we must witness her passing.

Pinky was always happy even when she found out she had end stage Lung cancer she was upbeat. She told her doctors It could be worse! she could have something contagious and not be able to see her friends!
In an effort to keep her friends happy she said nothing in her last days.
so i ask you all to make an effort to keep happy as we continue on in life.

she ends her speech there and leaves the platform

one by one ponies enter the stage to tell stories of Pinky and how she made them laugh everyone is half crying and half laughing until it comes time to lower the casket.

tears mix with rain as the sky opens above while the casket is closed below.

silence reigns over the crowd until speaker crackle erupts from the back. Everypony turns to
see Vinyl silently setting up her record table
she removes a record from a large manila envelope tears streaming down her face
she places the record on the player and flips the switch

"It's true some days are dark and lonely
and maybe you feel sad,
But Pinkey will be there to
show you it isn't that bad"

Okay, I wasn't crying until Vinyl.... played.... the....record!!!!! But anyways, this is a great story, and the other chapters are just as good.
