Rarity can't bring herself to deny her friends anything and they soon grow incredibly bold with their demands. She can't help but feel dirty after doing some of the things they ask, but also somehow exhilarated!
2878907 If you plan on this going further will you have Rarity grow and try to learn how to say no? Also are any other characters 'discorded' and honestly, Twilight is acting so out of character that it was more than a little jarring. Why is she like this? She doesn't have a very dominating personality, yes she is a leader but that doesn't mean she dominates the ponies she's leading, if she did Celestia wouldn't have trusted her with the power of being a princess.
2878978 She may learn to say no or she may grow to enjoy and accept being a submissive. There are those that like submitting. I lean towards the latter, but I reserve the right to completely change my mind.
No one is discorded. Twilight is trying out being a Dom because she found a book about it. Like the time she came in fifth place in a race, because she read a book about running. Or the time she was all about doing exactly what the book said for having a sleepover. She's found a new interesting thing in a book.
Also, the sub/dom relationship is more complex than just "one dominates the other." The sub always allows the domination more so than the dominant ever takes it.
2879072 I can understand the mixed feelings. Rarity seems like a very strong willed person most of the time and she obviously enjoys getting Spike to do things for her (even pins in his scales!).
For me, the mix of the Nightmare Rarity comic book story arc (which involved showing her fear of losing her friends and some other issues) combined with the "Suited For Success" episode where she makes and remakes and remakes dresses for her friends (even though they turn out horrible and she knows they're horrible dresses) can lend some support to this. Also, the Nightmare Rarity arc makes the episode retroactively make more sense in a lot of ways.
I'm glad you've decided to stick with me for a bit and see where it goes.
2879014 I know that the relationship they would have in this situation is more complex than I said, but Twilight still is out of character, I got very confused personally when she said that she was fine with Spike watching them have sex. Rarity is submissive because she is self loathing, I can relate to this and know what it feels like as I have and still do go through periods of time where I will do this, but it should be explored, why did she start becoming self loathing? Why is she the only character discorded? This concept seems very interesting if you explore it and flesh some things out. Her character growth can't just be "That she grows to learn to accept or possibly enjoy being submissive." Why does she enjoy it, or if she doesn't why does she accept it and not try to stand up for herself and overcome her inner conflict? I know I'll probably come off as an arrogant asshole with my next statement but, I would love to explore this concept with you, before I make myself hated beyond redemption I'm only saying this as I have wanted to Co-author to help me get used to it as I find it hard writing and publishing what I wrote since I'm very overcritical of myself. But I'm trying to say I want to help you explore this and expand on it, not only to help you grow as a writer, but so I can and possibly gain some more confidence in my writing.
2879107 Seems in character to me, but I know a lot of doms and subs in real life and the daytime persona is often misleading, though not always.
Buuut, everyone's interpretation of everyone else is completely different from everyone else (we don't really know anyone, just the stories we tell ourselves about them). So I can accept your difficulty with my interpretation of the characters.
I'm glad you enjoy my writing style. After this is finished, I may write more and I'll be open to suggestions.
Those are decent questions. Rarity is not discorded, she's just gone down a path for the wrong reasons, but it might turn out to be the right path for her anyway. What I'm trying to say here and will show in the story (if I do a decent job) is that even though she may ave had the wrong reasons for her initial choice, she may find that this is what she really wants. This lifestyle. Why would be explained as a progress of self discovery while she goes about her new life as the submissive to her friends.
I appreciate your comments, questions, and suggestions. :) I find that the best way to get better at writing is to plop your writing down in front of other people. Sometimes in front of other writers, though I'm not always sure if writers count as people.
2879131 Ok, someone else may have already explained it already, but I'll say some stuff of my own.
Twilight is just a studious mare, somewhat socially awkward (as the stereotype suggests, though she's not always like that as the show implies). However, She's overall nice and doesn't look down upon ponies as her subjects (Princess yadda yadda whatever, that doesn't count. She still doesn't see them that way), especially her closest friends. Then I read this and just... wow. Twilight, what are you doing?
Rarity, while being the Element of Generosity, makes her liking to help out her friends. but helping them out by satisfying their lust in any way? Rarity, I find your generosity keen, but you're taking it too far.
I won't shoot it down, though. As I said, I like you're writing style, and would like to see more.
2879170 I think you may be confusing being a dom with "looking down on" someone. A dom dominates, because the submissive enjoys it. To fail to dominate, to fail to recognize that need in the sub, would be... impolite. Twilight is doing what a dom does to make her/his sub happy - dominating. A dominate doesn't "look down" on their submissive, even if the things they say or do might look like that from the outside, they love and because of that love they dominate - to fill a need in the other.
On the other hand, Twilight can't see into Rarity's head, so she doesn't really see the confusion and turmoil, just the physical results. So she'd have every reason to think this is exactly what Rarity wants.
I can see how the story might make you uncomfortable. I appreciate your questions and comments. They give me some meat to work with for more of the story. :)
I think you may be confusing being a dom with "looking down on" someone.
I think I might be making my explanation confusing.
I can see that the sub enjoys it, but it seems like the dom is still looking down upon the sub, but not in a bad way, if that makes sense. If it doesn't... then disregard everything I just said.
Only reason I'll stick to this is because I actually like your writing style. I expect to see a bit more good writing from you.
2879221 Thanks. :) I think what you're saying there makes sense, but I'm not sure, so I'm gonna read it again tomorrow. After sleep.
I like your comment style and I'm glad you're sticking around. Maybe one of my later stories will be more to your liking or even one of the later chapters of this one. :) I have my hopes.
I'm working on the next chapter, called "Hush" (or possibly "Shhh" but I'm leaning towards "Hush") right now, if that gives you a clue about which pony is next.

Yeah, I'm a little confused by the 4 likes and 4 dislikes equals 2 views thing... I think the stats must lag...
2878890
Yeah the views just jumped up to 30 for me.
2878896
Eyup me too, must have been stat lag.
This is good so far. I like this story. Keep writing, I want to read more.
2878903
Thanks. The plan is to at least have a scene for each of the Mane Six, possibly a few side ponies, etc. :)

I've got mixed feelings about a submissive Rarity.
It's starting off well, so I'll keep reading, but I'm a bit skeptical.

Well, umm...
A submissive Rarity and a dominant Twilight? So OOC for both of them.
Great writing style. Just... the content of the story is a bit jarring for me.

I´m really curious how this will work out. Especially when/if it´s Fluttershy´s turn.
awesome story. i'm really looking forward to more of this :D

spike needs in on the everyone-fuck-rarity express.

Why does this not have the comedy tag? I was laughing my plot off. Keep it goin'!
It's... a bit weird to see Rarity slave herself off like this, but I think I like it.
