The trouble with publishing is you can only do it once! And once it's out there, its first run up Popular and/or the Box will be where it gets the majority of its views and comments in its lifetime. Writing a second draft would be for the smallest possible audience: the trickle of readers that will stumble upon the fic during its long tail. Made all the more smaller for this fic in particular being quite low in overall rating.
