Troubleshooting Print Head Issues in Canon Printer · 7:14am January 8th

The print head issue mostly results in a blur, different colored or inaccurate printing. You can also identify the problem by checking the alarm flashlight. If the alarm flashes 11 times, then Print Head alignment is definitely encountering issues, whereas 11 times flash shows print head error.

Computer dead-ish · 8:08pm Jul 8th, 2017

Booted it, started surfing perfectly fine, and when I came back the darned thing had rebooted without explorer actually initializing.

And not even safe mode brought the desktop back. Sarcastic yay~, I get to spend my Sunday reinstalling Windows! :fluttershyouch:

So bit of a heads up that I might be quiet for a bit. A modern phone is many things, but not comfy to write on.

Don't try to run 3Dmark on a pentium-166. It'll BSOD the heck outta your computer.

Also, when it says it needs a minimum of 128 megabytes of ram to launch at all, it means it.

Also, google chrome can theoretically run on an even older socket 3 board if it has a pentium overdrive installed on it, which means that it can run on something that was around when the internet was still mostly in its infancy.

Gadgets [Edited] · 11:12pm Oct 28th, 2020

Yep, warning for y'all, this is non-pony blog, you have been warned.

Ok, one thing that's never changed is that I like my gadgets, which is a bit of a bad habit because I've been poor most of my life, and this habit has a habit of making me poorer. I suppose I have gotten a bit better about buying only when I can afford it, or now that's to the ubiquitous of Chinese tech, buying low priced or no-brand products.

Should I also start a tech blog? · 5:15am Mar 8th, 2017

'Cause then you know what is what. Recently I've been posting rageblogs about Comcast, and I have a feeling that it's starting to annoy a few people.

A tech blog would at least help take my mind off of the fact that Concast is out for blood when it comes to customer service. 'Cause then I can babble on about various inane events between me and the computer fort that my room is.

A Bur Under A Saddle: Ponies and Tech Thoughts 1 · 3:52pm Jan 8th, 2018

Axiom one: A species technological development is determined by four major factors; the laws of physics of the world they live in, the materials they have access to, the inborn abilities they can harness, the physiology of their bodies and minds.

Axiom two: Necessity and curiosity are the mothers of invention; but practicality is the father of it's propagation.

Something From Nothing on a break · 1:04am Apr 15th, 2019

In unfortunate news, Something From Nothing has to go on a break. My co-author, Vold, had her laptop go bust on her. She's planning on getting a cheap new one and opened a gofundme to help fund a replacement. If any of you readers want to donate, please don't feel like you have to but it would be very much appreciated.

Posting from my new secondary workstation! · 5:36am May 5th, 2018

Who knew that someone would dump a perfectly-fine Core 2 Quad workstation at a thrift store? This thing (The Dell XPS 420) used to cost $2,279, but I grabbed it for a mere $8 at the thrift store. Granted, everything but the CPU and (now crap) GPU were stripped from the system, but I've got plenty more than enough to replace the missing parts. In fact, aesthetically, the system still looks practically new. The smell, however? Let's just say that someone must've put it

So my laptop died. · 1:58pm Jan 3rd, 2018

After five faithful years of service, it seems my laptop has finally entered the last stages of its life. Got the infamous "click of death" last night.

I've already picked out a new one, but it'll be about two weeks before I get it, so I'm afraid my latest fic will be delayed for a while. Sorry about that. Hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

I've only set up a limited number of pages so far, but feel free to check it out over at https://museum.themajortechie.com/!

Right now, clicking on the description text for the images only gives you a 404 error, but when I get around to it, we'll be seeing detail pages with even more hi-res photos!
