I feel manly! · 10:20pm Dec 2nd, 2019

Ok, so I bought an amplifier not so long ago from a recycling sight not far from me. It was in rough condition, an old Fender PR 498, a Front man Series 25R. Not too long ago, I fixed it, now it's working brilliantly!

I had to take out the broken pot on the reverb control, as it's the main point of a 25R. I soldered in a new one tonight and I replaced all of the tone knobs. I cleaned it quite a bit, too, but I can't do anything about the tears on the leather finish.

The truth behind my Custom Shop Stratocaster, as I've just found out... · 2:52pm Mar 8th, 2020

I just got back after taking my guitar into the local guitar shop to get the selection switch fixed. I've left it with them, but we had a massive debate over its authenticity. From what they can tell, it's more or less a mix-and-match guitar that likely isn't a custom shop Strat.

A photo of the new instrument - a big brother and little brother comparison! · 11:31am Jan 2nd, 2020

Here's the new baby I've been talking about. Well, I say 'baby', but what I really mean is 'heavy hunka wood'. Only got it the other day, so I've been sat having a go with it. Fingers hurt like hell, as I'm not used to the fat strings of a bass, me being a guitarist, but it sounds really great, save for a little fret buzz, but that's all good. I like a rough sound. Dare I say it; I found it quite fun to play, like when I first learned to play the guitar.

Today, I got an OFFICIAL VERDICT on my Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster. It's BAD. · 5:36pm Mar 10th, 2020

Okay, so following the previous blog about what was happening, I went in today on my way home from work to see what was going on with my guitar. The owner of the shop was going to have a look at it, and he's very thorough, so I know he wouldn't bullshit me or anything.

Here's what he said to me: my guitar is completely fake. Not just the branding, but literally everything.

Ever since I was told my CS Stratocaster was a fake, I've had my eyes set on this beauty! I want one of these so badly, so I'd thought I'd share the beauty and give you a little story to go with it! · 1:34pm Jul 8th, 2020

There is one thing that I've had my eyes on for a while now. Those who know me well enough know that I'm obsessed with guitars. I enjoy Stratocasters and Mustangs the most. When I discovered what the Fender Custom Shop was, I went nuts over the idea. Unfortunately for inexperienced me, I was like a child on Christmas when I find a guitar on eBay that had a Custom Shop decal on its headstock. That was the first mistake.

I GOT MY BABY BACK! · 3:35pm Jun 19th, 2020

I got a call this morning from the guitar shop owner and he let me in on the situation. The guitar tech is one of the most vulnerable people to this virus we're facing right now, so he's off duty and in isolation until it's once agains safe for him to return to work, which means I was told it was better for me to take my guitar home until that time comes.

What happened to Buddy Holly's 1954 Stratocaster? Where did it go after he died? · 4:59pm Feb 4th, 2020

Does anybody here even remember Buddy Holly? I was curious about what happened to the guitar he played on the very last tour and final days of his life, The Winter Dance Party. This was back in 1959, and Buddy was one of the first musicians to play a Fender Stratocaster, a prototype model, at best. It went missing when he died, being unaccounted for. He also only owned three guitars - a 54, a 56 and a 58.
