A photo of the new instrument - a big brother and little brother comparison! · 11:31am Jan 2nd, 2020
Here's the new baby I've been talking about. Well, I say 'baby', but what I really mean is 'heavy hunka wood'. Only got it the other day, so I've been sat having a go with it. Fingers hurt like hell, as I'm not used to the fat strings of a bass, me being a guitarist, but it sounds really great, save for a little fret buzz, but that's all good. I like a rough sound. Dare I say it; I found it quite fun to play, like when I first learned to play the guitar.
I wanted to get one with a sunburst finish to match the Strat, and I think it works pretty well. If you don't love that finish, you've got no eye for beauty.
Oh, and if you're curious about the Strat, I'm not sure what it is exactly, model-wise, but it's a Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition, but of what, that's a mystery to me. Plus, it needs some repairs to the electrics. Can't find anything online about a serial number, so I don't know where to look. Either way, it's a sweet-sounding Strat with aggressive distortion tone and that vintage-style twang you hear in old recordings from the likes of Jimi Hendrix and recordings from the 1950's / 1960's era, back when most everyone played Stratocasters.
Awesome
Looks great!
