As Griff approached Ramirez's house, he notices that all the lights are off and that it was oddly...quiet 'Too quiet...' he thought.
Entering the home he starts getting a strange feeling, he looks around the darkroom, looking for anything strange or out of place in the living room. Cautiously, he reaches for the light switch 'something ain't right...'
Ramirez, her friend Griff along with Zinc, and her husband Star sat together in the living room with her in the middle holding Zinc (who is currently sleeping).
“so, do you guys know why I brought you here?” Ramirez asked.
both Star and Griff nodded, Ramirez then looks at Star “Star honey, I wanna know why you...act the way you act”
“meh...” Star replied.
“Okay, do we have everything? Flammable liquid, fire extinguisher? Spiny, do you have those chemicals ready?” Venom asked as the two changeling brothers walked down the staircase leading into a lower room. Their older brother followed behind them with a curious expression.
“Remind me what is going on here…?”
“We volunteered to style your mane, of course! Not only is it probably filled with glass from our trip to the beach, but it’s probably doused quite a bit from the ocean.”
“Griff? Griff, are you in here?”
Griff didn’t answer, still tossing dough like a pizza making zombie.
“...Griff? Griff!” Scarab stepped in front of his adopted son, pounding a hoof on the counter to get his attention.
“Ahh!” He yelped in surprise, the dough flying onto the ceiling with a wet slapping sound. Griff looked up, glaring at the wasted dough. “...Damn it. It took me half an hour to get it thin enough. Thin crusted pizza ain’t an easy job, Y’know.”
“And then he said, ‘this wasn’t just any regular body’. And I said what? And he said ‘it’s your mom’s!’”
Griff deadpanned at his symbiote’s awful storytelling. This was, what, the sixth time he told this story? “Griffon has heard enough,” he grumbled, laying on his front and burying his head under the pillow.
“Don’t you wanna hear about the plethora of ‘your maternal birthgiver’ jokes I’ve learnt living in modern Equus? They’re actually quite scrumptious.”
“So what do you think? Sleeves aren’t too long? Colors don’t clash?”
Griff finally looked up from his seat after what felt like an eternity. Venom took a sip from his paper cup, staring back with stars in his eyes. He’d picked up a soft-colored hoodie with some slim-fit sweatpants.
“Hm… looks good on you… aren’t you hot in that? It’s like, eighty degrees out there.”
“Well, it’s like, below zero in here! I can see my own breath!”
“Probably because it smells like Berry Punch.”
“No...”
“Smol”
“Dont do it griff!”
“Bug”
“for the last bucking time I am not small! I am an average-sized bucking mare! first, it was Hero and now you!” Ramirez said angrily as she stomped her hoof on the ground.
“but you are smol”
“hey guys, what are you doing?” Hero asked.
“Zinc! stop! your father gave me that jacket!” Ramirez shouted as she fought a tug of war with her daughter, Zinc.
Ramirez was aware of the trouble Zinc was causing, she thought she could handle it...apparently not-
“Ow! Zinc! no! bad girl!” wincing in pain she lets the jacket go which Zinc took this opportunity to run off with it while giggling. Rami meanwhile was licking her hoof where Zinc bit her “Celestia dammit!”
since Ramirez is about to start working tomorrow she decided she wanted to hang out with her two favorite ones: Griff and Star.
the three of them sat on the couch (Griff to the left, Star to the right, and of course Ramirez in the middle) in the living room watching TV, waiting for their pizzas to arrive (2 cheese and 1 pepperoni). they already have the plates and cups out along with some soda, all they need is pizza!
The loud creaking of the door opening immediately caught Griff’s attention away from his parchment. He looked up to see one of his brothers at the door. The blue changeling rubbing his eyes with a foreleg.
“Venom? It’s two in the morning! What are you still up for?”
Venom didn’t respond. He walked over to Griff, climbing up onto the bed, blanket in hold, before curling up and silently snoozing away.
“Wake up. Rami, wake up” Star said as he shook the changeling awake.
Opening her eyes slowly Ramirez got up, blinking a couple of times as her eyes tried to adjust to the bright lights of the hospital room “What Star?” she asked.
“Griff’s here”
“...Dad?”
Scarab yawned and sat up. “Griff? What are you—”
“Hey... your room doesn’t have a closet, right?”
“Um... right? Why?”
“Can I sleep with you tonight?”
“...Of course.”
Griff walked over, laying next to his father as the changeling wrapped him in an embrace. Scarab couldn’t help but wonder; what had happened to this poor kid?
“Griiiff! Griff, I’m back!”
“…aaaand I’m rotting in a freezer…” a distant singing voice replied.
Flutterwings galloped up to the spirit, still wearing the same bundled up clothing the last time she visited. This time, however, she had saddlebags with her. He turned to look at her sister, unable to visibly smile, but his eyes lit up like never before.
“Y-You’re back?” his voice echoed coldly through the place.
“Yep! Here I am! I’m back!”
“Hey Rami, if you could have anything in the world what would it be?” Hero asked.
“The same thing my dad has! and I already have it!” Ramirez replied as she smiled and wagged her tail.
“Oh? what is it?”
*Fortunate son starts playing and gets a flashback*
“Uhhhh...”
I’m now starting to imagine that Bez and Hero have a brother-sister dynamic.
“Hey, boys, what’s taking you so—what the?” Bezier froze as soon as she saw the male changeling floating on his back in the vat of Sparkle-Cola. “...what’s Hero doing?”
“Nevermind that, Bezzy, just get him outta there.”
“Star! Griff!” Ramirez shouted happily as she ran up to both of them “how are you guys?
“Um...good but...who are you and how do you know my name?” Star asked, tilting his head and trying to remember if he met the changeling before.
“Same with him, who are you? do I know you from somewhere?”
You're a year older now, mijo! Happy birthday!!
Flutterwings struggled to keep her head up as she sat on the sheet. Griff had carefully wrapped a quilt around her.
“I don’t think you should keep coming here…”
“Why nooot? Hardly anyone else comes in here!”
“That doesn’t matter if you’re getting hurt…I don’t want you endangering yourself to keep me entertained.”
“Even if you don’t get to see anyone else…?”
He nodded solemnly, hanging his head. “Even then.”
The nymph sighed.
after an exhausting night, Rami with the help of her husband and her friend she was able to give birth to a healthy nymph which she is holding rn. smiling while crying as she looked down at her beautiful daughter, Star doing the same thing while Griff and Melody who arrived after him just smiled.
“Amber...” she said to herself quietly.
