Today I got an interesting reminder. Jungle, the second book in the UNSEC Space trilogy, had its pre-order page go live today, three years ago.
Now, this is relevant because I’m currently hard at work on getting Starforge, the third and final book in that same trilogy, into the same state.
You know, it's funny, but I always find that it takes me a few lines worth of errors to readjust to using my big, awesome keyboard again. Just like it takes me a little while to adjust to using someone's laptop keyboard when I'm traveling and going to make a post. The fingers go to the expected locations, and ... Whoops! See? Well, you can't, because I fixed it, but just there, with the "whoops," I did it again.
Yes, I used three exclamation marks there! I earned those!
Because the first draft of Jungle is DONE! After a writing day of 5,236 words. Bringing the final wordcount for the first draft too ...

The first draft of Starforge is now 154,000 words in length! Almost half the length of Colony (weighing in at 334,000 words) and a third the length of Jungle (458,000 words).

Hello readers! I’m back! Two posts in two days is cutting it a little close, but … We’ve got special circumstances here.
How so? Well, as of two weeks ago Jungle, the long-awaited sequel to Colony, launched at last.
If I were to describe my thoughts on Hey Arnold the Jungle Movie in a single word, I believe the best term would simply be.....Satisfaction. I feel that perfectly articulates my thoughts and probably the thoughts of anyone who sees this movie. Even though anyone will also tell you the movie is flawed, at the end of the day, after 15 years of waiting, I can safely say that I feel content after watching this film.
Okay, so the bad news is there’s no normal weekend post today.
But that’s because I’m hard at work on finishing the Jungle Alpha. There are only a couple of chapters left, and then I’ll make the final blitz pass on Monday to finish off any loose ends (ie areas that I fixed that were awaiting feedback that got it, I just had already moved on to another chapter, etc). Once that is done …
Well, I’ll start uploading chapters for Beta. Beta invites will go out.
So, I’ve had a lot of people ask me the same question over the last few weeks, especially as work on Jungle wound down and slowed. Sometimes their wording is a bit different, sometimes it’s the same. But all of it boils down to one simple concept: Now what?

All right, readers. It’s time to come clean. Last night, as I lay trying to sleep at around 4 AM, my mind whirling with questions and maybes and possibilities concerning Starforge, I realized something.
Starforge is officially the most stress-inducing project I’ve worked on in a long time.
Yeah, that’s right, you read that correctly. This is it. The official cover reveal for Jungle. Along with a light synopsis (not at all final, but it’ll give you a good idea of what to expect) and a preview excerpt from chapter one!
I may be forgetting something, but this is like the only time where Power ranger makes their own and original ranger which is awesome!
