I’m going to extend the practice of canon statement combing to chapter books as well. Mostly because I can. I generally ignore them, because they are usually even less in tune with the primary canon than comics – I only have that much glue to hold it together. The Journal is kind of an exception because of how important it is.
But maybe, just maybe, at least some of them can be exploited for more dramatic opportunities…
Time for the grand finale.
Meet episode 14. Which was, as the rumors say, supposed to be episode 18. Chronology be damned.
I’m not labeling this a “Season 9 episode 0” like some people did, because I’m pretty sure it won’t fall into the time frame of Season 9 either, whenever that airs. I expect numerous chronology issues from this one…
This… is technically not a very good episode.
Frankly, I expected that after shipping Mac off canonically, they would forget about Sugar Belle entirely.
Oh boy. I mean, oh Pinkie.
This episode confirmed a surprising amount of fanon. It also singlehandedly said "no" to my gripes about failings of new changelings, which I had reposted yesterday…
∃ renegade, traditionalist, changelings
More displacement activity. I only have one and a half seasons left before this reference is complete, come to think of it.
Do you suppose I should write some manner of monumental “what I think of pony canon” essay when I’m done? Mind you, it will contain a lot of unkind words.
I only have a few episodes left.
Well, my burst of actually writing was shorter lived than I wanted, but there’s still canon to play with.
Canon fodder episode! Also lots of awkward.
This is an episode I don’t remember well, so I expect some discoveries.
Rarity has no luck with stallions whatsoever, doesn’t she.
I think the first thing I do when this reference is done is a huge overview of pony schizotech, meticulously listing examples of their technology in various fields, as well as giving some theories as to why they don’t, for example, have TV, and how would it work at the time they actually do invent it. Anyway. More episode combing while I still have episodes to comb and time to devote to the effort.
It’s a spoiler. I’m not in a mood to care, and won’t be until I can make new tDCS electrodes.
Deal.
Ah, the chronologically controversial one.
Ah, the episode that introduces the owl with a name nobody can spell.
