I recently rewatched A Very Minty Christmas and while Minty did make up for accidentally breaking the magical candy cane (I love G3) there is the last scene where Minty is trying to get everything straight, which is how she broke the candy cane in the first place. I actually thought, if she breaks something else, she's going over somebody's knee. The earlier shot on Pinkie's hairbrush probably put the idea in my head.
