She won't really have a choice. She was granted her power in order to help Luna restore Balance.

I really REALLY hope you're planning on writing a book one day.

Eventually, yes. I wrote these as an exercise in self-improvement.

Bravo. This has been very fun and I'm looking forward to the lessons even more now, but I have to go.

Have a good night!

I just read through all this.

Airstream, you are now cemented in my mind as The Magnificent Troll. My brain now swarms with things and I'm not sure what to freak out about first. Aside from your little Morgan Freeman trick. Now my arm itches.

You evil monster.

I do try. Any further questions? I'm still here.

Be warned I think he's secretly Discord.

No, I don't have his lighthearted nature or desire to monologue.

1158629 Oh, goodness, I thought you'd be in bed by now! I ought to be, it's almost 5am...

Will there be another significant timeskip between DDG and the next story, and will Sweetie's foal play an important role?

Airstream
Group Admin

1158641
Yes. There will be an extremely significant timeskip. As for Sweetie's foal, potentially. I'd definitely want it to be a factor, but much of the third is still fuzzy. So yes, but I'm not sure how.

1158643 Nifty.

Not a question, but just a comment... You're even more cruel (via the torture, pain, anguish, etc) to your characters than I am to mine, and I've had people tell me that I'm downright evil to mine. I will say it makes for an extremely entertaining and suspenseful read, though.

The thing is, I love them all intensely. I really do. I put time and effort into them, I feel bad when horrible things happen to them, and when things finally go right, I can't help but feel happy for them.

That said, I live by a philosophy that garners me very few friends.

If you love something, try to destroy it. If it survives, it will be the stronger for it. And strength is the greatest gift you can give.

1158650 I feel very much the same way (and as a result, the more I love a character, the more they end up going through... Even if I do feel bad for them). I only have one favorite character who hasn't suffered through all that yet, mostly 'cause I havent had enough time to write her properly (the OC who's image I'm using). I need to get to that... Less Minecraft, more writing is needed.

I felt really bad after killing Spike. I loved that guy. But I knew he would probably have to die after I finished the first book.

1158655 I was really afraid you'd kill him, but I... mostly expected it. Not so much because of Spike, but because of Twilight. I don't think there's anyone closer to her than Spike...

1158656
I was going to say herself, but then I realized I sort of killed her too.

1158658 I don't think you can say "sort of"! She may be coming back, but she was still dead for a while!

1158659
True. Obvious Christ allegory is obvious.

1158661 Does that mean it'll be three days for Twilight, too?

I still can't believe I didn't get the Eve reference.

Airstream
Group Admin

1158663
No, not three days. But there will be another Biblical reference, mostly because of when she does come back. I really like to shove those in where I can. They're fun.

1158665 They are fun. Heck, I've used them.

I should reread both stories with a more discerning eye for things...

Tons of little references. V for Vendetta, Ivanhoe, Dr. Who, the Bible, half a dozen historical battles, the list goes on.

1158667 I actually noticed many references the first time through. Particularly the VfV and Dr Who references, and even some of the Bible stuff (although I clearly missed more than I noticed!) Besides, rereading will give me something to do this week and help refresh everything in my mind before you get the classes started.

Fun! I went and bought about a hundred and fifty dollars worth of books today for me to read between stories. That plus the 1314 chapters of unread fanfiction should keep me occupied for a week or two.

1158671 I wish I had money to do that...

Join the military! Disposable income with all of your basic needs provided for, as well as free college and technical training! All you have to do is volunteer to get shot at every few years.

1158675 Fun story about that. 13 years ago, when I was 18, I did, in fact, volunteer for military service. Tried to join the US Navy, in fact. Scored ludicrously well on the ASVAB, and the nuke test, was going to be put through school and given a pretty hefty sum to become a nuke tech, you get the idea. Then during my initial fitness examination, they gave me a permanent medical disqualification, due to one of the problems in my eyes. I can see fine. My eyes aren't 100% correctable, but for whatever reason, the problems in my eyes made them go "nope!" I spent a year trying to get around it, with no luck.

1158671

Pfft only one thousand three hundred and fourteen?

I recently hit two thousand.

Airstream

1158679
That's...terrible. I don't know why, but those guys in the Navy really have a stick up their asses about the medical DQs. I had a buddy get disqualified for a mole. Not a cancerous mole, just a mole on his back. That was it. Also, what's the nuke test? I took the DLAB, but never heard of that one.

You are now aware of your own tongue. It doesn't fit comfortably into the bottom of your mouth.

1158687 It was pretty terrible. I tried with a couple of the branches after that (Army and Coast Guard) and they couldn't do anything about it, either. It was a damn shame, too - my family has a very strong record of military service... Well, that, and my life had kind of hit a dead-end, and joining the service would have been extremely helpful.

I don't recall the official name of the test - it was 13 years ago, and I'm not even sure I knew what the official name was at the time. It's purpose was to test scientific and math skills and determine capacity for some of the more high-end specialist jobs, like nuclear technician.

I couldn't even imagine doing that kind of work. For me it'd be sitting in a silo and hoping I don't have to do my job.

1158693 I understand now that it would have actually been a pretty terrible choice for me. I am not a very science-y person, at least, not that kind of science. (Although I'm now going to school to become a psychiatrist, but that's a very, very different kind of science). And I've later learned things, about life, the military, myself, and so on that has made it very clear that if I had joined the military, I probably wouldn't even be alive today (and not necessarily from being shot at). Ultimately, life works in odd ways, but I do believe it worked out better for me in the long run.

1158688

I'm sorry but that's not going to work a second time.

Or without Morgan Freeman.

I'm glad to hear that things worked out. thinking on it, I can probably agree with you that my original career as a linguist probably wasn't the right choice for me as well.

1158701

I'm not sure.

Give me a moment to dec- OH LOOK A PRETTY BIRD!

1158703 Kind of strange how things go, isn't it?

Anyway, I'm sorry, but I have to get to bed. I'm only going to get about three hours of sleep at this point, and I have a tabletop gaming session to run in the morning. Thanks for the chat!

I just finished reading through this thread and laughing at Airstream being clever.

Also, HOW COULD YOU KILL SPIKEY-WIKEY????

If only I had woken up a half an hour earlier...
