    Short Blog Update 2/26/23

Hey, it's the end of February I guess! Woo... currently I am in a living situation that makes it extremely hard to focus on anything, and I am currently looking into fixing that problem. It is just really hard to get into a proper workflow in this apartment, but I have managed to chip away at it little by little. I don't want to go into detail, just that it is just not the most ideal of

Lore: Goats · 7:12am Oct 27th, 2022

Let's open up these blogs again.

I liked doing that post about Enclave cities so I am going to try to do more of those. So... Goats.

They first appeared in FIM S2E19 "Putting your hoof down" as hired help for Iron Will. When we think of professional mercenaries in Fallout Equestria, we tend to think of Talons as the best of the best when it comes to mercenaries. They're well trained, well armed, they stick to their contracts. I like to think of goats being at the complete opposite end of the spectrum. They are cheap unskilled labor that will do literally anything. They will stand around as bodyguards. They will do your taxes (results may vary). They will do any sort of menial work you can think of. You can even pay one to stand around and be a chair! This is how they've managed to carve out their own market niche in Equestria.

A word of advice: "It's like my grandpappy always told me. Never short a goat on their pay." -unnamed trader pony

If they suspect you are intentionally putting too many goats into harms way, underpaying them or treating them unfairly, a group of goats might show up and break your kneecaps! Their "big brothers" are tough and mutated hulking monstrosities, similar to Bighorners from Fallout New Vegas. Except since Bighorners are meant to be "Bighorn Sheep" a new name would probably be warranted. Radgoats? Caprihorns? (If you have a better suggestion let me know.) They are also popular hires as bouncers and bodyguards. Just keep in mind: if you mess with a goat, you're probably going to hear from a few of them.

So does this mean that goats have their own little "Goat Union" going on? I kind of like to think so, but given the state of the Wasteland you're probably not going to see goats organizing a strike or anything any time soon. So maybe just more like a labor organization that operates in certain settlements and in parts of Equestria? They are more prone to just try and kick your ass and then you won't be able to hire goats anymore. Tragic.

Fun fact: Dodge City also makes extensive use of goat labor.

I like this idea because it blends their role in the show into FO:E in what is in my humble opinion a pretty satisfying way.

Small bit of Red 36 - news: I got some really cute custom page breaks commissioned for my story. I'll add them in the coming update!

That is all. Thanks for reading!
